It was great to support the Children's Minister Janet Daby's first meeting with foster carers this week. We started with a visit to the South East recruitment hub led by Bracknell Forest where we heard about good practice coming out of the hub. Then she met with some amazing Mockingbird carers, who talked about the support they receive through their constellation, and the impact this has on retention, sibling contact and preventing placement breakdown. We look forward to continuing to work with her! 🙌

"Everything we do is based on a deep understanding of each child’s origins that shaped who they are. We support our carers to become familiar with each child’s individual experiences, life events, culture, physical, emotional and developmental needs." This awareness enables our foster carers and other professionals to ensure that each child’s uniqueness is treasured and identified as an opportunity to grow. #fosteringawarenessweek24

How can children and young people thrive if there is no cohesive equal team around them? What are your thoughts on the 'them and us' culture? Foster carers can join us for the ultimate protection: https://lnkd.in/dF75XPvH
