On one hand, we have Nanoresonance Industries, co-founded by and Dr. Ekaterina Markelova, Ph.D. who are pioneering technologies to reduce the environmental footprint of the polymers industry and restore the natural water cycle. Their work, featured on the adaPETation Podcast, emphasizes the importance of regenerative solutions in addressing global water challenges. In parallel, Dina Pons managing partner of Incofin Investment Management, is leading a transformative initiative that showcases the symbiotic relationship between the PET plastic industry and water access. Through the Water Access Acceleration Fund (WAF), Pons and her team aim to bring fresh drinking water to 30 million people, focusing on investments in Asia and Africa. The Idea: Reuse Egg Cartons 🥔 Why Reuse? Recycling and composting both require significant time and energy. By reusing egg cartons, we can conserve resources and reduce the #environmentalimpact of #wastemanagement. Reusing egg cartons will keep them out of the recycling or composting stream while reducing the overall waste generated. How can we implement this? We can set up a community collection point where people can drop off their empty egg cartons. Organize distribution to local farmers markets, grocery stores, or even directly to backyard chicken owners who can reuse them for their eggs. By also educating our community about the benefits of reusing egg cartons and promoting the program through social media, local newspapers, and community events. Why does this Matter? It is easy for us to take for granted the work and resources required for access to food, clothes, and other necessities. It's easier still to assume the process is efficient and effective. Yet, many companies haven't adopted cradle-to-cradle systems or regenerative agriculture. If people want to ensure companies can continue produce, they should install these sustainable practices wherever possible. Transforming the rapeseed supply chain with regenerative agriculture 🌱   Sustainability is a journey, pursued together with others. 🌍 At AAK, we are actively collaborating with our rapeseed suppliers and customers to measure and manage emissions across our supply chain.
