Day 5 💻 | #100DaysofCode I learned a lot today in Scrimba. As well as started another miniature project, (Digital Business Card) that showed how these new principles work in real time. First, my learning went into relative paths. While seeming quite simple at first the idea of targeting another directory separate from the one you are currently in threw me off for a second. I also learned more about the flexbox in CSS. During the construction of this business card, we needed the elements to stack but not line up in an array. This is where I learned that flexbox only alters the direct children of it's container. Utility classes were the last topic discussed for today and how they can be used to affect only one element of your code if needed. I'm excited to finish the design tomorrow. 💡

Do you know VS Code sticky scrolling? It's a feature that allows you to pin lines of your code that represents parents groups of your current position in the code so you know where it belongs to. You can also click to go to the sticky lines. Enable at: Menu > View > Appearance > Sticky Scroll, and try it yourself.

Hey! It's been so long since my last post. Wanted to share some stuff I've been playing with. CustomDepthStencil feature from UE is fine by itself, but you lack the information of the other buffers behind this wall; if you sample the position / normals, you'll get the ones from the wall instead of what that is behind it. In this quick video, I'm showcasing how I rebuild position from the custom depth, then the normals from the derivatives of this position, giving you a CustomDepthStencil fresnel. It opens up quite a lot of possibilities rather than just basic outlining. Here is the code ;D => https://lnkd.in/eKGXSmrT Cheers!

#100daysofcode #100daysofcodechallenge #100daysofcodingchallenge Day 51: The menu element structure now works. It helped me remove over 150 lines of code as there is much less repeating code. The structure now creates menu elements and changes the element's color when it is hovered by the mouse cursor. The game exits when the user presses the left mouse button when the Exit option is activated. #cpp #sdl #cmake #gamedevelopment
