#ICYMI: Read our key takeaways from FPF’s Privacy-Enhancing Technologies (PETs) Research Coordination Network (RCN) virtual kickoff and White House event. The RCN was created to support the Biden Administration’s Executive Order on Artificial Intelligence. FPF launched the PETs RCN on July 9, bringing together industry experts, policymakers, civil society, and academics to discuss PETs' possibilities, the inherent regulatory challenges associated with their use, and how PETs impact AI developments. The virtual kickoff event featured 40 experts worldwide who helped provide an overview of the RCN’s work for the next three years, discussing topics such as defining PETs and policy asks for lawmakers. In addition to the virtual kickoff, FPF attended a White House Roundtable event hosted by the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. At the roundtable, participants discussed the global momentum behind PETs, their applications and future directions, and more. More about the two events in a recap blog by Shea Swauger and Andrew Gruen: https://lnkd.in/ei2FusM4
