Sometimes, one simple vision can transcend into unexpected strokes of genius as demonstrated by Robert Propst! 😍 In the 1960s, he introduced the Action Office system, known today as the original cubicle, with the goal of fostering a more efficient, adaptable, and flexible office environment. The concept was simple: modular components that could be easily reconfigured to accommodate various tasks and workflows, tailored to the needs of any office space. However, contrary to Propst's vision, businesses quickly found that it provided a cost-effective way to maximise all corners of an office space with an added cherry on top: privacy! As a result, the Action Office system became the closed off cubicle we know today which for some is a sanctuary of solitude, and for others, a fancy prison cell! Not sure which one you are?
