Ever had a class that felt like a life-changing journey? Let me take you on mine... In the 3rd trimester, I encountered an extraordinary mentor, Mukunda Giri sir, CEO of a renowned business research firm. Despite his demanding schedule, his passion for teaching shone brightly. It taught me a profound lesson: amidst life's hustle, never let your passions fade away. Mukunda sir's sessions were not just about textbooks; they were about implanting essential life values. He emphasized setting priorities and investing 80% of our time in tasks that yield results. His mantra? ⭐Focus and dedication pave the way for success in the competitive world beyond the classroom. Every word from him resonated deeply, shaping not just our academic journey but our mindset towards life's challenges. Mukunda sir, your class wasn't just about education; it was about fostering invaluable life skills and priorities. We are immensely grateful for your guidance. Let's not just aim for academic success, but let's strive to imbibe life values and priorities. Thank you, Mukunda Giri sir , for being a beacon of inspiration! Want more insights like these? What’s your one-sentence commencement address? It’s commencement address season. I’m such a sucker for inspirational quotes and stories that I often find myself constructing graduation speeches in my head — you know, just in case. But what if I could only provide one sentence? What would my one big idea be? Of all the advice I could dole out to the Class of 2024, what’s the singular thing I’d want them to know? It’s an unrealistic scenario but an important exercise. In our work, what do we want our donors and friends to remember? What’s our key message? I’ve driven my teammates mad over the years distilling and reducing and refining. (Sorry, guys.) Anyway, recently I came across an incredible book called Big Panda and Tiny Dragon by James Norbury, a British author and illustrator. In it, Norbury presents his outlook on life (inspired by Zen Buddhism) as a big, fluffy panda bear 🐼 and a diminutive dragon 🐉 travel through the seasons of a year. I particularly liked the page depicted here. So much so that I’m choosing it as inspiration for my one-sentence commencement speech. “To the graduates of the Class of 2024, what’s most important is not the journey, or the destination, but the company along the way.” Your turn! Comment with yours. FB: @bigpandaandtinydragon IG: @jamesnorburyofficial #bigpandaandtinydragon #jamesnorbury #commencement #graduation #classof2024 #company
