Our Swap Meet is THIS THURSDAY!!! It's a White Elephant Gift Exchange for Businesses and Brands—Instead of knickknacks, we're putting contracts in the middle at 6pm on Nov. 21, 2024! We've heard some concern about the price point. Let's break it down... First, this event GUARANTEES that you'll be getting some new business relationships. Not contacts. Not just networking. ACTUAL BUSINESS. That ALONE should be worth the $120. Then it's Food, Drink, Childcare, a super fun game and a +1 for JUST $120. You can't go out on the town for less than that. AND it's not $120 for just one event. It's all 3 of our premiere events: Swap Meet, Pop-Up Potluck, and our GrandVIPrix Balcony. So, it's more like $40 per event. And a guarantee that the community you meet at this event has a vested interest in coming to the next event. So you're actually building relationships. Lastly, we are barely covering our costs at this price point. It's just enough to pay for everything and we're absolutely losing money if we factor in the amount of time and effort it takes to throw these events. It's NOT about making money for us. It's about building a meaningful opportunity to do real work with real businesses and brand here in real life. So, yeah, it's $120. I’m going to do some breakfast networking outside my comfort zone.. Who’d like to join me? On Friday 26th July 6:30am - 9:00am Brisbane City, the Christian Business Network (hosted by Colin Lee) has Daniel Flynn (ThankYou Co-Founder and Managing Director) speaking. For anyone who knows the ThankYou story or has heard Daniel speak, it’s awe inspiring. Even though it’s an amazing opportunity to also connect with fellow professionals, I quickly came up with a list of reasons not to attend: ... I’m not Christian ... 6:30 start is very early start ... the morning will be dark and cold ... how will I get there ... I’ll barely know anyone …... and the list goes on. I’ve found those who are really successful can flip these doubts to a positive outcome: Yes! It starts early, I’ll have the rest of my day ahead Yes! I’ll meet new people who want to grow their business and connections Yes! I’ll learn and be inspired by Daniel Flynn’s achievements and speech So I’ve switched the doubts out for a more positive outlook and bought a ticket. It will be my first CBN event, however not my first time with Colin Lee who has shown so many business owners his generosity. If you’re interested in attending you can book your ticket here: https://lnkd.in/g5cA7Kv2 Those who attend, reach out so we discuss business, data and profitability after the event. #BusinessNetworking #BrisbaneBusiness #ThankYou #ChristianBusinessNetwork

Our Small Business Mega-Mixer is coming up this Saturday! We're getting a lot of questions, so we're going to try to answer them here: What is the Mega-Mixer? It'll be a combination of small business expo & trunk or treat. It's an opportunity for small businesses to showcase their services, give out information, network with other business-owners, and make new connections with the community. Through our drive-in journey, we've met some incredible local businesses and entrepreneurs and want to use our platform and location to amplify their voices. We currently have 60+ vendors registered and anticipate more by the weekend. They span a wide variety of industries and we're looking forward to meeting everyone! When is it? Saturday, May 18, from 12-3PM. Registered vendors/businesses may arrive between 11 and 12 to set up their space. Is it open to the public? Absolutely! It will be open to the public from 12-3. Admission is free. Children and pets are welcome! I have a business. How do I sign up? It's FREE to sign up, we just request that you register ahead of time so we can make sure we have room for everyone. Each registration is for ONE PARKING SPACE. We are keeping about half the lot open for parking so the public can attend. The registration link is here: https://lnkd.in/gvfcSQ-4 Will there be food? Yes! We will have our drive-in snack bar open throughout the event with our full menu of tasty treats and meal options for purchase. How much space will each business have? You will have ONE parking space per business/organization, and your table & materials must fit within that space. You will not have access to a power hookup. Tents are OK as long as they fit within the parking space. What if it rains? This event will be held rain or shine, but right now it looks like the weather will be okay! If there is a weather emergency, we will make an announcement. This mixer is a first for us, so we're excited to see how it goes!

Back in February I planned, produced, and promoted my second annual Galentine's Social vendor event here in Chattanooga. This year, Galentine's nearly doubled in size, reach, and attendees. My coffee vendor sold out in 2 hours, both my food vendors sold out, my experience vendors (tattoos, tooth gems, tarot, etc) filled up in minutes, and many of our vendors hit over $1K in sales in the first couple of hours. We got local news coverage for the second year in a row & raised nearly $1K for a local black/woman owned adult education non-profit. Yet, I was in the negative after it all, not even including the countless hours I put in myself. Overall the event was a huge success…yet it ended up costing me money instead of making me money. And truly—that could’ve been even worse if I didn't do all my own marketing creation and hadn't traded for some services. Why am I telling you all this? Because small business world—especially on social media—can feel like a comparison game, and success isn’t always measured in numbers. I choose to spend my time and money investing in the small business and events culture here in Chattanooga because it’s bigger than me and my bottom line as a entrepreneur. Putting money back into the pockets of local businesses, artisans and makers is so important to me, and I believe quality, curated, experiential events are so important to our success. Galentine's was a celebration of all the amazing talent and craftsmanship Chattanooga has to offer, and it was a pleasure to lose money to make it happen 🫶

5 days and counting! I was going to bring a lot of different speciments of pests that I have collected from our area. However, I dont think I want to make anyone sick or distressed during my presentation. lol Instead, I am planning on talking about how I am doing things differently in the industry. I will be going over how some of the biggest companies take advantage of their customers using fear tactics over care. How they charge mutliple times and different ways for the same things often. How you can avoid recurring and unnecessary charges for treatments that are just smoke and mirrors. And how you can even do your own pest control yourself for general pests to save 100's a year. I tell people all the time. I am albout Pride over Profits. I'm not doing this to get rich or take advantage of people. I'm just doing what I enjoy in life and taking care of my neighbors anyway possible. #WeAreTR #GTRCC #PestControl #DanTheBugMan #DanCanHomeServices

Have you ever lost money hosting an event? Or after all the work wondered if it was even worth it? I sure did! My first big 3 day live event was a success. 17 attendees. 5 speakers with interactive experiences. Everyone who showed up had an incredible experience. The only problem was that after ticket sales the event cost me $4K. And no new clients came out of it. Ouch. What a wound! This really hurt on so many levels. I made mistakes. And had no idea about things I did not even know about,… like how sponsorships work for everyone, including the host. Just one example of several mistakes- I paid all of the sponsors instead of them paying me to participate. Yes, really! I was so young, green and unknowing about how all of this works. As hard as this was, I kept going. I hired coaches, and 300 events later all of our events are a success. I just reviewed my numbers last year and I am over the moon happy with the outcomes on all levels. I am especially happy about the profits related directly to events which inspired this post. Two big lessons I have to share… 1. Start small. 2. Cover your expenses with sponsorships. When you have a plan and a formula that works you’ll be able to share more of your gifts with the world and everyone wins. Best wishes for a successful 2025!
