For Day Two of #ConstructionSafetyWeek, we're focusing on the ability to Encourage and Welcome New Ideas. We often say, "We're all responsible for safety." If we're going to charge everyone with this, we need to be willing to listen and respond to the concerns and suggestions of those bearing it, whether they're seasoned industry workers or on their first site. We might ask: "Do you see any safety issues that we missed?" "Is there anything we're asking you to do that doesn't make sense, or is unsafe?" "Is there anything we're asking you to do that you've never done before?" "Do you have everything you need to do the work safely?" Including everyone in the discussion and helping them understand the "why" and "how" behind the way we do things leads to better understanding and safer outcomes! #BuildingABetterFuture #AConstructionSolutionsProvider

Safety is a Choice, Not a Chance: Let's Make the Right Decision As professionals, we face various risks and hazards in our daily work lives. However, it's important to remember that safety is not just a matter of luck or chance. Rather, it's a conscious decision we make every day. By prioritizing safety, we're taking control of our own well-being and the well-being of those around us. We're choosing to create a work environment where everyone can thrive, free from harm and injuries. Prioritizing safety means: 👉Being mindful of potential hazards and taking steps to mitigate them 👉Following established protocols and procedures 👉Speaking up when we witness unsafe behavior 👉Continuously learning and improving our safety knowledge and skills By making safety a priority, we're not only protecting ourselves but also our colleagues, clients, and community. Let's make the right choice and create a safe and healthy environment for everyone. Let's share our commitment to safety and inspire others to do the same. 🚨 Prioritizing Safety: A Shared Responsibility 🚨 In today's fast-paced world, safety should always be at the forefront of our minds. Whether at work, on the road, or in our communities, prioritizing safety is not just a responsibility but a commitment to each other's well-being. Here are three key principles to keep in mind: 1️⃣ Communication is Key: Clear and open communication is vital in ensuring everyone understands safety protocols and procedures. Whether it's a simple reminder or a comprehensive training session, keeping the lines of communication open can prevent accidents before they happen. 2️⃣ Stay Vigilant: Safety is not a one-time effort but an ongoing commitment. Stay vigilant and be proactive in identifying potential hazards. Whether it's a slippery floor, faulty equipment, or unsafe behaviors, taking action to address issues promptly can save lives. 3️⃣ Empower Each Other: Safety is a team effort. Empower your colleagues to speak up if they see something unsafe and encourage a culture where safety is everyone's responsibility. By looking out for each other, we create a safer and more secure environment for all. Let's make safety a priority in everything we do. Together, we can create a safer world for ourselves and future generations. #SafetyFirst #WorkplaceSafety #CommunitySafety #StaySafe

In honor of National Safety Month, I want to recognize the dedicated Arizona Public Service - APS women and men who work in hazardous environments and harsh weather to ensure our customers receive 24/7/365 reliable electric service. National Safety Month brings attention to our most important priority – keeping each other safe! As humans, we all make mistakes. This is why our safety program is designed to assume people with the best of intentions still make mistakes. Therefore, we must build in the safety capacity necessary to allow people to make mistakes without it resulting in a serious injury or reliability event. We must learn from close calls and install protective barriers in place to ensure these close calls never result in something more serious. Finally, as leaders, it’s imperative to create a psychologically safe work environment where team members feel safe calling out each other when safety is compromised. Human and organizational performance (HOP) is the foundation of our safety culture at APS. Our commitment to safety includes embedding a culture of learning, empowering employees to speak up when something doesn’t seem right, and educating our customers and public safety partners on how to stay safe around electricity. #IWorkatAPS #NationalSafetyMonth

🛡️ The Dupont Bradley Curve is a model that shows how organizations develop their safety culture over time. There are four stages in the curve: 🔴 Reactive: Organizations in this stage have a lot of accidents and injuries. They don't have a strong safety culture, and safety is not a priority. 🟠 Dependent: Organizations in this stage start to take safety more seriously. They introduce new rules and procedures, and they start to track safety data. 🟢 Independent: Organizations in the independent stage take ownership of their safety. Workers start to look out for each other and make sure that everyone is working safely. 🔵 Interdependent: Organizations in the interdependent stage have a very strong safety culture. Safety is everyone's responsibility, and everyone is working together to make sure that the workplace is safe. The first step is to identify where you are on the curve. Once you know where you are, you can start to take steps to improve. As HSE professionals, we need to set the tone for safety by always following safe work practices ourselves. Empower employees to take ownership of safety. Give your employees the authority and resources they need to identify and address safety hazards. Create a culture of open communication. Encourage employees to report safety concerns without fear of reprisal. Celebrate safety successes. Recognize and reward employees who go above and beyond to keep the workplace safe. By implementing these steps, we can create a stronger safety culture in our workplace and prevent accidents and injuries. What are your thoughts on the dss⁺ Bradley Curve? How can we use it to improve safety in our own workplace? #SafetyFirst #WorkplaceSafety #SafetyManagement #RiskManagement #HealthAndSafety #SafetyTraining #SafetyAwareness #SafetySuccess #SafetyCultureMatters #SafetyLeaders #SafetyGoals #dupont #osha

Safety today has become a bureaucracy of copy-and-paste, and off-the-shelf solutions that have only increased confusion and, resistance to safety itself. We’re doing something about this. Stripping away the unnecessary jargon, the noise and taking safety back to its origin of, “connecting people with safety”. We are reviving proven and tested strategies, where safety made a real difference and was viewed as valuable, not demands, rules or a tick in a box! A quick chat costs nothing but doing nothing, could cost everything. #safety #safetyleadership #bettersafety

World Safety Day: Let's Talk Real Challenges We will not start posturing about the high level of safety control in our company, we will not share the complicated processes implemented in our company or unrealistic safety indicators. We'll forgo lengthy descriptions of our internal safety protocols and unrealistic statistics. Instead, we'll focus on what truly impacts everyday safety: human connection. Here at LIONSISTER, we believe that large organizations can sometimes lose sight of the human element, which we consider the bedrock of a safe work environment. So, we surveyed our valued customers. Guess what? Even after navigating the labyrinth of safety protocols, some fundamental safety breaches kept popping up. Here's a sobering fact: even experienced scaffolders still commit common safety breaches like: Incorrect use or neglect of fall protection. Not wearing safety glasses. Omission of hearing protection. Here's the truth: complex processes and hefty fines can't replace genuine human connection. Large corporations often get so caught up in the safety spectacle, they forget about the real human contact who actually make safety happen every day. Beyond pronouncements, true safety demands open dialogue. Today, let's share: What lingering safety challenges exist in your organization? By learning from each other, we can work towards REAL zero-violation goals. Stay Safe! #WorldSafetyDay
