Haskell team members recently celebrated alongside the U.S. Coast Guard during the grand re-opening of its Fort Macon Multi-Mission Building (MMB) in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina. Severely damaged by Hurricane Florence in 2021, the rebuild project has transformed the landscape, providing a centralized upgraded space for amenities and operations previously housed in four separate facilities. The design-build, $27.7 million project houses the latest technology, equipment, furniture and support features across the following spaces: boat maintenance bay with crane; command center; offices; berthing room (living and sleeping quarters); multi-purpose training/mess deck and kitchen; medical clinic; recreation room; fitness area; and locker room/bathrooms. Haskell self-performed 100% of the design and engineering of the facility and also subcontracted Haskell Steel for approximately $200,000 of fabricated steel for the project. Congratulations to all stakeholders on successfully delivering this project. We are proud of the opportunity to support the Coast Guard’s mission and enhance its ability to ensure safety, environmental protection and national defense.
