Bloomberg today posted a story (see second link) headlined, “Kamala Harris Will Try Turning Coconut and 'Brat' Memes Into Votes.” The story drove home how the 2024 presidential race has been reduced to a reality TV series where style trumps substance. Indeed, it can be argued that neither of the presumed candidates offer much in the substance department. I’ve linked to the first presidential debate between Kennedy and Nixon. Put aside whatever opinions you might have about the two men and just focus on the debate. First, it was a real debate requiring considerable knowledge and a detailed understanding of critical issues. Kennedy and Nixon were given opportunities to articulate their visions and debate how they differed from each other. The questions were posed by journalists both Kennedy and Nixon agreed to and notably the faces of the questioners were never shown. The debate wasn’t conducted on a game show like set but rather on a nondescript stage. If Trump and Harris had to debate within the format required of Kennedy and Nixon, the results wouldn’t be pretty for either candidate. Running for America’s highest office shouldn’t be treated as a “So you want to be president” TV series because it stacks the race in favor of superficial candidates. Michael Bloomberg, who was exceptionally qualified to serve as president, bombed during the presidential debates. Bloomberg is a world-class executive and leader who doesn’t suffer fools gladly, and I felt sorry for him having to stand amid candidates whose collective talents, experience, and accomplishments didn’t measure his. Mike Bloomberg’s intelligence and strengths are lost on those whose worldviews are shaped by TikTok videos. The third link is to a 2007 discussion Mike Bloomberg did years ago at Google’s Mountain View headquarters with a then unknown executive named Sheryl Sandberg, who you likely won't recognize. Bloomberg was asked substantive questions by an intelligent person, and he rose to the occasion. https://lnkd.in/gqgdtkKR https://lnkd.in/gr47VHJg https://lnkd.in/g9GDtA7a #election2024

The first Biden-Trump presidential debate takes place this Thurs. 6/27 on CNN. I will definitely watch it and hope that you will, too. But keep your eyes and ears open. I am very doubtful that Mr. Trump will receive fair and equal treatment from either CNN or the two 'moderators' who have a long history of bias against Mr. Trump and conservatives. https://lnkd.in/gHkkCyfS Read this article and watch the clip for just one example of how CNN silences certain perspectives while promoting others. Karoline Leavitt simply mentioned how CNN had demonstrated this bias in the past. And for this 'egregious sin', her microphone was cut and she was taken off the air. What is so dangerous about the TRUTH and FREEDOM OF SPEECH? Could it be that there is an agenda underway, and that some people don't trust YOU to decide whether YOU believe or disbelieve something based on what YOU actually see and hear? HERE'S MY POINT. Be skeptical and ask hard questions. Don't accept anything at face value because there is always more to the story. It is not difficult to find various alternatives to what you are told, or to fact-check things for yourself. I trust you to make informed decisions for yourself IF you have all the info to do so. LEARN...and THEN VOTE, my friends.
