How does Holdsworth change schools and leaders? Hear what some of our recent program graduates had to say. This summer, 272 leaders completed Holdsworth’s rigorous, world-class leadership programs for superintendents, principals, and other district and school leaders.
I've been teaching for more than 20 years now. But what I realized before I got here. Was that a lot of the leadership roles that I took? It was for my identity. It defined who I was. It brought me my value and my worth, and outside of those titles and roles. I didn't really think I was much more than. That. And so I realized that right before Holdsworth. I kind of burned out. I didn't want any roles and titles. I start realizing that the campaigning for these roles and titles. Where you out, you hear me? It will burn you all the way out. And so I decided, how about we don't take anything else? We figure out who we are. We learn our value, we need to learn our worth. And I'm using weeks. I got a minister to myself. And once I figured that out. My life was a little bit better, but my attitude towards leadership was still. A little bit throw at it because. I thought that if I accept it and here I go again, create my value and my worth. So I didn't want any titles, I didn't want any roles, I didn't want to attend Holdsworth to make any transformation because I was using it to define myself. Then when I got here and I started learning the research. Behind my Why? Having time to reflect in an environment away from school. Learning about who I am as a human 1st and not just myself as a leader or my role on my campus. It kind of transformed the way that I was thinking about why I'm here. Throughout our capstone project, I realized that I have influence over people. That could help make things possible and all of my capstone team, we have influence in our own areas at the school. Which means that if we can all influence our areas and bring all the people together, then. We can make all of our goals possible and that is just what we did. But I literally do not think it would have occurred. If I wouldn't have been able to. Have these opportunities for training and reflection? To change the idea of who I am as a person and as a result. Who I show up as a leader? So thank you for all of these sessions, for all of the work. That I had to do socially and emotionally. Have any opportunity to impact change on my campus? And being able to have this opportunity with my team has changed the way that we see each other, the way we work together. And the way that we show up for each other now. We are Better Together. But we are better because of Holdsworth, so thank you.
