It was great to be in attendance for Tanya's address. Her talk was thought provoking, highlighting the importance for us all to continue to strive towards achieving incremental improvement, personally, professionally and as an industry. Whilst these themes are overarchingly familiar, Tanya's focus, drive and positivity is certainly infectious. No matter where you stand on the spectrum of views in relation to the highlighted themes, Tanya's call to rejuvenated action and commitment is support worthy. It is indeed a well structured inaugural speech by the incoming President Tanya de Hoog with clear directions exhibited for achieving progress individually and collectively as members of the IStructE, and for contributing our share in saving our planet. I am glad to note that emphasis is given for mentoring members to achieve their Chartered Structural Engineer status.
