In addition to element design, frame stability is crucial, especially in lightweight structures like structural steel and timber. Frame stability involves the impact of displaced vertical loads that are no longer aligned with their original positions. This usually results in lateral displacement, either due to external loads like wind or frame misalignment. The latter is common, causing further lateral displacement of the vertical loads.
