"The Hundred Languages" by Loris Malaguzzi Loris Malaguzzi's poem "The Hundred Languages" beautifully encapsulates the vast potential and diverse ways children express themselves and interact with the world. The poem metaphorically suggests that children possess countless means of communication, creativity, and exploration, symbolized by "a hundred languages." Malaguzzi critiques traditional education systems for suppressing these innate capabilities by enforcing conformity and limiting creative freedom. He emphasizes that conventional schooling often disconnects cognitive learning from physical, emotional, and imaginative development, thus stifling children's holistic growth. The poem highlights the detrimental effects of these restrictions, such as teaching children to separate work from play, reality from fantasy, and reason from dreams. Despite these imposed limitations, the poem ends on a hopeful note with the child's affirmation that their boundless potential—the "hundred languages"—remains intact and must be acknowledged and nurtured. Malaguzzi's work aligns with the principles of the Reggio Emilia Approach, advocating for an educational environment that values child-centered, experiential, and inquiry-based learning, where children's full potential is recognized and fostered. #EarlyChildhoodEducation #ReggioEmiliaApproach #ChildDevelopment #HolisticEducation #CreativeLearning #InnovativeTeaching #EducationReform #ChildCenteredLearning #LearningThroughPlay #EducationPhilosophy #LorisMalaguzzi #TheHundredLanguages #InclusiveEducation #EarlyYears #TeachingStrategies

🎉20/11 is Teacher’s Day in Vietnam. 🌟Does it give you insight into Vietnamese culture? In our culture, teachers, trainers, and coaches are held in the highest regard. 💡We have several sayings that reflect this, such as, “You can’t succeed without the help of a teacher,” or “When eating fruit, remember the person who planted the tree.” There’s even a saying that goes, “If someone teaches you even a word or half a word, you must respect them as your teacher.” These proverbs highlight how significant teachers are in shaping our lives and why we owe them deep appreciation.♥️ 🎊On Teacher’s Day, it’s not just current students who show gratitude; people of all ages visit their former teachers to express respect and thankfulness for the knowledge and life lessons they imparted. This is especially true during special occasions like Lunar New Year. Even today, schools in Vietnam hold grand celebrations for teachers, often starting a day or two before 20/11. 👩🏫My mum, a high school math teacher (equivalent to teaching Years 11, 12, and 13 in the UK), still receives visits from her students, some of whom graduated 10–20 years ago. They bring flowers and gifts as tokens of appreciation. Interestingly, in Vietnamese society, being a teacher is one of the most respected professions, particularly in the eyes of mothers-in-law, who often consider teachers ideal daughters-in-law because they are believed to raise children well.😍 🥂So, Happy Teacher’s Day to everyone who is a teacher, trainer, coach, or works in the education industry! You have been doing an amazing job, helping to shape and change people’s lives.😍 ❓Do you know if there are any other countries that celebrate Teacher’s Day? #teachersday #differentculture #manners #vietnameseculture #respect #themannersandmindsetacademy #elegantmindwithmai #mindset

📚 Empowering Dreams Through Education 🌟 colégio santana was founded in 1998 in Shiga Prefecture with a mission to provide quality education for Brazilian children in Japan. The school’s founder, a second-generation Japanese-Brazilian, had worked as a teacher in Brazil before moving to Japan. During their time at a company with around 400 Brazilian employees, they observed that many children rarely had the opportunity to play outside company housing, which they felt was unhealthy. With the support of the company, they started Colegio Santana to create a safe and enriching environment for these children, allowing them to learn, grow, and pursue their dreams. Today, the school continues to provide bilingual education in Japanese and Portuguese, while also addressing the special needs of Brazilian autistic children living in Japan. 👉 Learn more about how you can get involved here: https://lnkd.in/g3gvKTuW #BilingualEducation #EducationForAll #ColegioSantana #BrazilianCommunity #SupportingFamilies #AutismSupport #InclusiveEducation #ShigaPrefecture #JapaneseBrazilian #EducationForTheFuture #CommunityBuilding #HelpingChildrenThrive #EmpoweringDreams #MakingADifference #NonprofitSupport #CulturalDiversity

This is the moment I started talking about language death. This is the moment I emphasized teachers' critical role in giving knowledge and strategies to parents so they can make informed choices on how to pass on their family language or let it die with the next generation. In the end, it's never our choice, it's always the family's. But so many times, languages die, not due to the lack of desire to pass on the language, but not knowing HOW to do it. That is where we come in - language-knowledgeable teachers in early education. This is part of our charge, this is part of what we need to know how to do and need to know how to talk about with families! #languagelearning #earlychildhoodeducation #languagedeath #immigrantissues #bilingualeducation #languageeducation #internationalschools

♦️ Japanese children stand out globally due to their unique upbringing and educational experiences, which emphasize respect, discipline, and community values. ♦️ From a young age, children in Japan are taught the importance of manners and consideration for others. This cultural foundation is deeply embedded in their education system, where not only academic knowledge is prioritized but also moral education plays a crucial role. ♦️ Schools encourage students to participate in activities that foster teamwork and responsibility, such as cleaning their classrooms, which instills a sense of community and respect for their environment and peers. ♦️ Furthermore, the Japanese educational framework promotes politeness and social harmony. Children learn to navigate social interactions with grace, understanding the significance of empathy and emotional intelligence. This focus on character development alongside academic achievement results in well-rounded individuals who are not only knowledgeable but also considerate of others' feelings. ♦️ The societal expectation for children to uphold these values contributes to a more organized and civilized community overall. ♦️ The combination of rigorous academic training and a strong emphasis on moral values shapes Japanese children into polite, respectful, and socially aware individuals. As we reflect on these qualities, it's essential to recognize the profound impact that education and upbringing have on shaping future generations. 🌏✨ #JapaneseEducation #Respect #CulturalValues #Politeness #Empathy #MoralEducation #CommunityValues #CharacterDevelopment #SocialHarmony #GlobalCitizenship #ChildDevelopment #EducationMatters #FutureLeaders #EmotionalIntelligence #Civility #Teamwork
