So many pre-teens don’t know a fool-proof, non-embarrassing way to introduce themselves and start a conversation with a child they don’t know. Secondary school will put them in lots of situations where they’d feel a lot more comfortable and confident if they knew how to avoid those awkward moments, how to find out someone’s name, and how to start a conversation with ease. Social Skills for Secondary School Success is a series of short, self-study videos that help children learn skills and techniques that will enhance not only their confidence in friendship building, but also their confidence in speaking out loud at their new school. Don’t wait to help your children with these skills until they begin in September, share them now and get them set for success from the very first Taster Day! At CAPE, we're ready to welcome our kids to a new school year. For some children, transitioning can be a challenge. So here are some tips that can help you through the first day (or first few days): 1.- Organize their supplies: make sure they have everything they need and know where to find everything. 2.- Set up a homework zone: Give your kid some dedicated space, even if it's small, to do their school work (or school-related activities). 3.-Create a routine: It may take a day or two to figure out the best times to wake up and head out the door, but once you find those ideal times, stick with them. 4.- Show them what to expect: Some children don't like surprises, so spend some extra time around their school exploring the different areas. Preschool is a big transition for some children, but we're here to help. Learning through play has emerged as a key strategy to foster student engagement, inclusion and holistic skill development. Play-based learning is a highly effective approach that has gained significant recognition in early education programs. Through play, children can express their ideas and emotions while also observing and understanding the world around them. Additionally, play helps children develop social connections and cultivate healthy habits. In this way, play proves to be invaluable in promoting the overall development of a child. It serves as an effective medium for delivering Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE). Knowledge gained through play not only enriches the learning experience but also remains with the child for life. “Children need the freedom and time to play. Play is not a luxury. Play is a necessity. – Kay Redfield Jamison #NCERT #ECCE #Learning #EarlyChildhood #Education #FoundationalStage #PrePrimaryEducation #LearnThroughPlay #NationalCurriculumFramework #NCF #PreSchooling #PreSchool

🌼WHY DO we teach our children to line up? . 💫In the line is where there can be negative behaviour and volume. Our aim is to get children from one place to another, as calmly as possible. We practise walking in off the playground, round the settings, into and out of settings to help reduce any anxiety, feeling or behaviour about getting somewhere and what is happening. ...and let's be honest, as Brits, we love a good queue. . 🌼The Power of 3~ we use 3 visual and verbal prompts to help the children remember. -Hands by our sides, -facing the way we are going, -One behind the other. We added in a 4th (Shhh don't tell The Power of 3) and say that we are not talking. This is a Year 4 class, showing the rest of the school how they line up calmly and beautifully, so that they can too. They got chosen everyday to come in from lunch first because their line was so good, and the difference in the classroom when they walked through the door was amazing. . 🍃Comment LINE for our guide and information on how we get our children to line up and for information on our Power of 3 that we teach in our Behaviour Transformation Course. . . . #letstalkbehaviour #thebehaviourplanner #teachertips #teacherlife #teachertraining #teachercourses #behaviourculture #behaviourtransformation #behaviourmanagement #behaviourmanagementstrategies #behave #childrensbehaviour #childdevelopment #childdevelopmentspecialist #parentlife #kids #teachersofinstagram #classroomsetup #classroomideas #classroomhacks #classroomcontrol #classroommanagement #happyclassrooms #behavior #behaviour #teachersfollowteachers #behaviorsupport #behaviourchange #primaryschool #nursery #education
