The Investor Forum is delighted to announce the launch of the fifth Investor Forum Development Programme (IFDP). This year the programme will run for 6 weeks (starting on 8th October). The programme is designed for employees at Member firms with1-5 years’ experience and we would like to offer participants from diverse ethnic backgrounds an opportunity to: - develop key skills - hear from expert speakers - build a network across the investment industry - identify their leadership qualities - work with other participants to research an ESG project The programme will culminate with the participants presenting their findings to Investor Forum Members.    The 37 participants to date have come from a range of Member firms, large and small, working in a variety of roles, including equity analysis, stewardship, portfolio management, sales, compliance and trading.   The programme is open to all Members at no extra cost. The Investor Forum team volunteer their time to run this programme and mentor participants. Gyre will again provide access to their online personal development platform. The Investor Forum is pleased to announce the launch of The Investor & Issuer Forum (I&IF), a new initiative which is being created to provide a unique environment for companies and investors to enhance the effectiveness of the UK equity markets. As the I&IF’s secretariat, the Investor Forum encourages market participants to share ideas, priorities and concerns to inform the new forum’s agenda. This collective effort is crucial for reshaping stewardship practices and ensuring that the market can function at its highest potential. We are delighted to announce that Chris Kinder has been appointed as our new CEO, with effect from 2nd September 2024.    With over 20 years of experience as a UK-focused Equity Fund Manager, Chris continues the Investor Forum’s practitioner-led focus, with a deep understanding of companies and excellent connections with the wider capital market community.  Most recently, Chris was a senior fund manager at Columbia Threadneedle Investments, and brings a wealth of investment insight, and a passion improving the functioning of the UK equity market.  In addition to leading the Investor Forum he will establish the Investor and Issuer Forum which will be launched later this year. We extend our thanks to Andy Griffiths, our founding Executive Director, for his vision and commitment to the Investor Forum.  Under his inspirational leadership, over the last decade the Forum has grown from a concept on paper to a respected organisation with over 50 institutional Members, which is now well-positioned for the next phase of its evolution.
