HRP and the World Health Organization are celebrating #SelfCareMonth, which starts today and ends on International Self-Care Day, which is 24 July. That date was chosen because self-care can be practiced 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Self-Care helps people: •promote their health •maintain their health •prevent disease • manage illness This Self-Care Month marks the fifth anniversary of WHO releasing the first global Guideline on self-care interventions for health and well-being. Since then, around 50 countries so far have taken steps to adapt the Guideline for use nationally and introduce or change policies to support self-care and the use of self-care interventions. Find out more about Self-Care and WHO’s work in this area here.

It's not surprise that I self-advocate and share my story more than most. It's to build awareness and attention to a disease that over 1 million people suffer from, we are looking for a cure! The more you know, the more you can help. Today my story was feature on Concord Hospital Health System MS Peer Wellness website where I volunteer as a peer mentor for others struggling with MS. ➡ https://lnkd.in/ectTqk2Y I'm #LivingWithMS and my motto is #YourStoryIsYourStrength, share it often and share it well.
