Historical Context: The Jewish claim to self-determination in Israel is often justified through historical and religious narratives that date back thousands of years. Proponents argue that Jews have a historical connection to the land, which was central to their identity and culture. This claim gained significant traction following the Holocaust, leading to international support for the establishment of Israel in 1948. Controversy of Historical Claims: However, the invocation of historical narratives raises questions about their applicability in modern contexts. Critics argue that such claims can be selectively interpreted to justify actions that may violate the rights of indigenous populations. The establishment of Israel involved the expulsion of Palestinians, which complicates the moral and legal standing of the Jewish claim to self-determination.

The occupation of Palestine is rooted in deep intergenerational trauma experienced by the Jewish people. The attack on Israel of Oct 7 has revived and amplified this trauma. But almost seven months later, we must reckon with horrifying reports of an entrenched, systemic policy of oppression, displacement, home demolitions and human rights violations, culminating in a massacre that most condemn as genocidal in nature. Has the Jewish painful history been exploited to justify an ongoing cycle of violence and ethnic cleansing against Palestinians? How can we reclaim Judaism’s teachings and principles of non-violence? Where do our moral obligations lie, faced with an Israeli strategy that claims to represent all Jewish people? Is there a responsibility for Jews of conscience to speak out against oppression committed in the name of their faith and peoplehood? Join Rabbi Lynn Gottlieb as we grapple with these heavy questions. She contends that solidarity with the Palestinian struggle is rooted in Judaism’s deepest ethical callings — to pursue justice, uplift the oppressed and respect the inherent humanity in all people. https://lnkd.in/eVyabXZq

See Israel Forever's resource, the link below, whereby Middle East expert Avi Melamed outlines the challenges facing Jewish communities in the Diaspora as a result of the breakdown of education on Israel and Jewish rights. Outlining how the corruptive elements of the antisemitic anti-Israel rhetoric have contaminated both social and political dialogue, Avi emphasizes the need for common individuals to learn how to provide intelligent profound arguments to rebuild the ability to engage in critical thinking that no longer erases the facts surrounding Israel’s existence and her right to defend herself and all Jews around the world against the hate and terror that are rising all around us. There is a genocide going on. The Only Role That Matters Now Is Speaking Out. #Palestine will be free.
Not all Jews are Zionists. Not all Zionists are Jews (in fact, most Zionists in the world are not). Jewish zionists have hijacked the Jewish identity and co-opted them into extremism. The hijack is comprehensive and pervasive and starts from a very young age. Synagogues have been abused, the memory of the Holocaust has been co-opted into an abomination - a smokescreen for genocide. To see so many non-Zionist Jews begin to speak out and distance themselves from those extremists is heartening and I stand with you. Non Zionist Rabbis are providing the narrative that not only delegitimises the corrupted religious basis that fuels bloodlust and mania at the heart of the apartheid Zionist state of Israel, but speaks to the true purpose of the 'chosen people' - spreading peace, unity and the oneness of God amongst all people. But we are looking at a hijack within a hijack. First the Zionist ideologues hijacked Judaism, then the god-less immoral crooks hijack the Zionists - those who don't give a crap about religion (regardless of how corrupted the interpretation is), but instead see a way to enrich themselves beyond their imagination by stealing power, land, water and oil resources. I imagine we shall see a further distancing happen. Where the total crooks - and I count Ben-Gvir, Netanyahu and other 'secular' genocidal Israeli 'leaders' in this group will be abandoned by the total religious extremists (you know who I mean, the ones doing kinky stuff with red cows and spit at Christians). Then we shall see them all for who they really are. Thank you #SJP #InternationalJewishMeeting for leading this.

«We (the International Jewish meeting) reject the cynical and reactionary instrumentalisation of antisemitism and feminism by the Zionist apartheid state of Israel. We call on Jewish communities to break away from the state of Israel and its representatives and to restore a Judaism that is disconnected from Israel centrality.» Read that again - ‘the International Jewish Meeting’ condemn the INSTRUMENTALIZATION of anti-semitism and feminism by the Zionist apartheid state of Israel and its representatives. AND I want to add by public officials, business leaders, politicians and influential academics in Western countries.

This core ideological reality – of a profoundly Nazified Palestinian society – is the decisive influence that Western peace negotiators have never sufficiently understood. It is the omnipresent context that has doomed every peace initiative to failure. This is one of the most illuminating articles I’ve read explaining the historical origin of genocidal Jew hate embedded in the dna of the Palestinian movement. Read and you’ll understand why “From The River To The Sea” can only be interpreted as call for the annihilation of Israel and its Jewish population.
