...and not just because of my overwhelming bias towards University grassroots sports. An important reminder on the wider benefits of sport beyond health, focus, and discipline. Particularly relevant as clubs open their beginners courses at the start of the academic year (here and across the country).
Many sports clubs welcome staff members so do consider getting involved if you're interested in starting something new!
"Because sport is not just about science, physiology, stopwatches and progress, but also about aesthetics, play, friendship, community, laughter, mystery and memory: the attributes of art and the humanities, or what it means to be human. I learnt as much on playing fields or the river as I did in the classroom, and as others do in the theatre, or concert hall."

From the front entrance, to across the theatre, and around the corner to the high school, forty-eight flags adorn the walls of our school. Together, they are a sight to see, a representation of who we are and where we’re from. And while these flags are something you see every day, you may not know why they’re there or how they’re chosen.
1 – Every flag represents a Meadowridge family and where they’re from, including current and alumni families.
2—Flags are hung in alphabetical order, currently from Argentina to Vietnam.
3—Meadowridge hangs four flags that are not geographical, these include: the Pride Flag, the United Nations Flag, the Survivors’ Flag, and the IB Flag.
"Art is life. [...] It means everything to me. Because it's changed me".
"Full expression to me is the most important version of success".
Watch these awesome Campaign for the Arts supporters and young people share what the arts mean to them.

Going to the theatre with my colleagues last week was incredible.
During the performance, we had the opportunity to observe how the actors skillfully conveyed emotions, articulated their lines, and engaged with the audience. It was fascinating to see their stage presence and how they captured everyone's attention.
One thing that really stood out to me was how theater performances are live events, which means unexpected situations can arise. Just like in our #ITprojects, where we often encounter unforeseen challenges, the actors in the theater had to adapt and handle these situations with grace and professionalism.
Moreover, the #attentiontodetail in theater productions is simply remarkable. Every aspect, from the set design to the costumes, is meticulously crafted to create a seamless and immersive experience for the audience. It reminded me of the importance of paying attention to even the smallest details in our own projects to deliver a high-quality end result.
Theater production truly showcases the power of #collaboration. It requires an extensive network of professionals, including actors, directors, set designers, costume designers, and more, working together to bring a production to life.
Exploring diverse domains, like theater, offers lessons for personal and professional growth. What unexpected places have inspired you?
Yesterday we visited the theater. It was great and very interesting. Thank you my colleagues Elena FilonOlga Suhaka and Darya Zalatarova I was so happy to spend this time with you. 😍 Also, would like to thank Elinext and our event manager LIZAVETA KALENKA for instilling in us a love of theater ❤️
Introducing the world premiere of Sarah Dickenson's The Commotion Time, produced by Exeter Northcott!
📜 Local history takes centre stage in this landmark drama, featuring an ensemble of local performers alongside professional actors. 🎭
February 1547. When the authorities introduce reforms set to drive division into the heart of the community, the people take action in the only way left to them; marching to Exeter to challenge the king and finally be heard.
As well as being Exeter Northcott’s welcome return to home-produced drama, The Commotion Time will also be the first production directed for the theatre by our new Creative Director, Martin Berry.
Created in association with Poundstock Gildhouse.
