I'm a great admirer of the leadership of Neha Sampat as she has dramatically grown Contentstack with a 97% employee offer acceptance rate. I came across this quote from our joint event last year, emphasizing trust at the heart of building great companies and how charitable giving initiatives build trust. ~~ WONDER CAMP: OUTDOOR CREATIVITY ~~ There’s a great Bono story in “U2 by U2,” from the early days of the band, in which he splits his tight leather pants live onstage. He is instantly humiliated, and he angrily lashes out at the chuckling audience screaming “I DID THIS FOR YOU! I WEAR THESE FOR YOU!!” That’s how I felt toward Paige Walthall, recording this ad for Wonder Camp at her request, and - as I predicted - being humiliated when some people came around the corner and looked at me like I was a moron for videoing myself. But I have to admit Paige’s idea - to explain to y’all that Wonder Camp has outdoor creative-time segments - was a good one to call out. People really do find Nature to be helpful toward creativity. There are several nonprofit experiences in the marketplace right now that I initially imagined while out on a run, hike or bike ride. It really is remarkable how many people find the outdoors to be where they do their most imaginative work. It’s almost as if the Creator who designed us to be His subcreators also thought to make an environment that would help us toward that calling. Funny, that.
