Great article! I continually preach that we need to get back to the basics of taking care of Soldiers at the basic level ie making sure they are paid on time etc. Additionally, moving people around and uprooting families on a routine basis forces midgrade Soldiers to eventually choose between their career and their families as the family gets tired of it. We keep trying to look for “new” soldiers as the priority while we hemmorage the ones we already have because they have become disgruntled and jaded, which only contributes to the recruiting problem as they voice this to anyone who will listen. The military has a plethora of opportunities, but we have to start valuing people and taking their needs into consideration as a culture to a greater extent. https://lnkd.in/g4r9dSdb

United States Air Force Logistics and Administrative Assistant veteran. During those years I was hand selected to work directly under the commander, won multiple awards, and passed a rigorous training to be a supervisor.
I would like to add the time management skill to the list. It is a very important skill in most jobs.
