Paving the Future with Recycled Tyres! In mid-March, State Asphalt Services, in collaboration with Transport for NSW and Ventia, made history by using crumb rubber asphalt for the first time on a NSW State Road. The crumb rubber-based binder was produced using the "wet process". This ground-breaking project took place on the M4 at Emu Plains and was recently featured across Channel 7 and Channel 9 News. 📺 Our innovative blend uses 9kg of recycled tyre rubber per 1000kg of asphalt. With 1300 tonnes of this special mix, we’ve successfully reused around 1,400 car tyres! 🚗♻️ The result is low-odour, resilient asphalt that's not only better for the environment but also for our roads. The benefits are potentially huge, even in Australia's most punishing weather conditions, this innovative approach promises a longer lifespan for our road surfaces and helps to muffle traffic noise, creating quieter, more durable roads. With continued support from Transport for NSW, State Asphalt Services and The Kypreos Group we aim to divert thousands of tyres from landfill over the coming years by specifying crumb rubber asphalt wherever it's cost-effective. 🌏💚 At State Asphalt Services, a Kypreos Group company, we are dedicated to sustainability and innovation in every project. Let’s drive towards a greener future! #Sustainability #Recycling #Innovation #RoadConstruction #Asphalt #GreenFuture #TheKypreosGroup
