The statistics are sobering. Young men from fatherless homes are: 2x more likely to drop out of school 4x more likely to live in poverty 2-3x more likely to deal drugs or carry firearms for offensive purposes 4x more like to commit suicide Far more likely to have behavior disorders (20x the average) We need your help to break the cycle. We need sponsors and supporters to help us change the lives and outcomes for young men in need of a positive male for model. An EPIC 3v3 Basketball Tournament with youth and adult divisions will go down on October 20-21. 🏀 Slam dunk AND 3-point shooting contests 🏀 College / Pro exhibition game 🏀 Full day of 3v3 games 🏀 Food, fun, community A variety of sponsorship and supporter opportunities are available from $250 to $10,000 (presenting sponsor). Big thanks to the Enterprise Mobility team at the #RIC Service Center for showing up for our young men for the third straight year! On Sunday, our Graduate Program had the opportunity to dive into auto safety and maintenance with the incredible team at Enterprise who take care of the fleets of Enterprise, Alamo Rent A Car, and National Car Rental at Richmond International Airport (RIC) / Capital Region Airport Commission. Tire pressure, tread depth, brakes, suspension, and even the latest in automotive tech — they covered it all. This partnership is a shining example of community support, and we couldn’t be more grateful for Enterprise’s continued commitment to helping us instill values like accountability in these young men. Looking forward to many more years of collaboration! Claude Crane IV, Joe Capps, Andrew Leff, Bruce Pittman and Jason Long were masterful in leading the training. What a great team put together by Don Hogan and Danielle Kahler at this location. A special thanks to Mike Bruce for your belief in what we do and for leading this amazing partnership at Enterprise Mobility. #mentoring #partnership #richmond #autosafety #enterprise

We are blessed to have community partners like CROSSFIT PUSHIN WEIGHT that believe strongly in our mission. They invited us to their community home in Powhatan, VA for the 3rd consecutive year this past Sunday. And put our Junior (1st year) mentees and mentors through an easy (haha) Workout of the Day (WOD). 💪 Thank you to co-owner Tyler Cox (aka "Director of Death") for inspiring, educating, challenging, and spending your Sunday with us. Great event to talk with the young men about 2 of our core values - Unity and Community - (the U and C in LAUNCH). Our partners are part of our village and we can't do what we do with you. 🙏 #community #crossfit #youthempowerment #youthstrong #rva

When a mentor shows up, lives change. 🎉 This is Logan. He lost his dad six years ago, and while that loss will always be there, we’re grateful to help fill in the gaps. Dean, one of our amazing mentors, made Logan's birthday unforgettable by taking him to a NASCAR race—something he had been wanting to experience for a while. 🏎️ While most of what we do at L.A.U.N.C.H for Life involves group events and mentoring, our volunteer mentors go the extra mile outside of these settings, showing up for young men like Logan when it matters most. As Logan’s mom, Rebecca, shared: "LAUNCH has truly been a blessing for Logan and our family... The time, effort, and passion that is witnessed is remarkable, and I’m honored that Logan can be part of the group. I was thankful to be able to call on a positive male role model from LAUNCH to fulfill Logan’s birthday wishes." We’re also so thankful to our supporters and donors who make moments like these possible. If you’d like to help us continue creating life-changing experiences, we’d love to connect. 🙏 #MentoringMatters #LAUNCHforLife #CommunitySupport #youthempowerment #MakingMemories MENTOR MENTOR Virginia

This may have been the best moment of the Olympics. And very timely as we wrapped up our 4th annual L.A.U.N.C.H for Life camp growing our mentoring family last week. 16-year-old Quincy Wilson faced a tough moment leading off the 4x400 qualifier. The team had his back and still qualified. Vernon Norwood showed up in THE best way—lifting him up, embracing him, and reminding him of his worth. Too often, young men (and women) are told they are "bad" and not good enough despite their circumstances and challenges. Even the interviewer after the race pushed him on his race performance. This image is what true mentorship looks like and something we reinforced in mentor training and during camp last week as we grew our family of mentees and mentors. At LAUNCH, we’re committed to guiding young men who need positive male role models, especially when they doubt themselves, proving they are more than enough. Give us a follow to see our work in action and get involved if you are able. #MentorshipMatters #Positivity #LAUNCHforLife #mentoring #youthempowerment
