While still cognisant of the diverse schools of thought put across by pundits as to why some economies are way ahead of others, I came across this fresh, interesting and palpable view by Lester Dekoster in his book - Work: The meaning of your life (A Christian Perspective).

I am looking forward to reading this new publication to gain insights on the toughest job in the world and how they balance their lives. How about you?
It’s called the “hardest job in the world.” Demands are infinite but hours are finite. The question for every president is how to get the most out of each day. Proud of Matthew Beckmann, his research, and his new book, The President’s Day.

In 1953, American biologist James Watson and English physicist Francis Crick made a profound discovery: the structure of DNA was a double helix. They made cardboard cutouts to approximate the shapes of the molecules they knew were part of DNA’s makeup and, like a puzzle, experimented with different ways of putting them together. They would shift around their models on their desktops, trying to find a shape that fit everything they knew about how the molecules were arranged.
My philosophy of #EveryoneCan Make-Play-Build revolves around this concept of "object metaphor," helping us understand and organise our thoughts. For instance, we might say "grasping an idea" or "building a theory," using physical actions to explain mental processes.
LEGO Serious Play is one of the toolkit i encourage K-12 Educators to use in the classroom to better structure and communicate complex thoughts. It's a natural and effective way to navigate the often intangible world of ideas. So, when you come across phrases that use physical actions to describe mental activities, remember that it's a powerful tool for making sense of the abstract.

Barbara Tversky, in her fabulous book Mind In Motion, explains and exemplifies the understanding that we "view ideas as objects". In the LHS introductory column, read the object metaphors authors and researchers use to explain thinking and understanding. Then, and only then, consider if it really is so weird a notion.
