This week, an extraordinary evening unfolded at The Greenwich Hotel in New York City, where The Leading Hotels of the World and Phaidon hosted an exclusive gathering of the city’s foremost design visionaries. Guests were treated to a preview of Design: The Leading Hotels of the World – the first volume in a multi-part coffee table book series, created in collaboration with The Slowdown. Set within the hotel’s iconic Locanda Verde restaurant, the evening featured an engaging discussion on design and architecture, moderated by Galerie Magazine's Jacqueline Terrebonne, and featured the brilliant Paul Goldberger in conversation with the book’s author Spencer Bailey. Together, they explored the intersection of architecture, design, and the stories behind some of the world’s most inspiring Leading Hotels. Last month, The Leading Hotels of the World proudly presented Leading Luxury MICE 2024 at the exquisite Evian Resort. Set against the backdrop of the stunning French Alps and Lake Geneva, the event brought together 24 Leading Hotels with 34 of the most influential MICE clients from around the world. Over three dynamic days, attendees immersed themselves in a range of experiences designed to captivate and inspire. The program featured engaging business sessions and a compelling presentation by Dean Bannon. Guests enjoyed a diverse array of activities, including an exhilarating golf clinic at the hotel, a city tour on the first day, invigorating hikes, thrilling rafting, and scenic e-bike rides. Each experience offered a unique way to explore the region’s natural beauty and foster valuable connections. Culinary delights were also a highlight, with two exquisite dinners and a lively farewell party, each offering a unique taste of the region’s hospitality and culture. The final day of Leading Luxury 2024 celebrated the collaboration of the world's top MICE partners and Leading Hotels. The Leading Hotels of the World kicked off the productive day with a thinktank session where Leading Hotels and planners met to discuss the challenges and trends in today's industry: contract negotiations, budget vs pricing, and AI's role in events. In the afternoon, attendees rode gondolas to an awe-inspiring mountain-top lunch, hosted by the region's Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Tourisme. From there, many guests embarked on exhilarating destination activities which included rafting and e-biking. A farewell gala took place at Evian Resort's MICHELIN-starred restaurant, Les Fresques. Attendees enjoyed an outstanding three-course meal before ending the night with a lively soireé featuring live music and the announcement of next year's host hotel for Leading Luxury 2025.
