Thank you, Jacki Zehner for joining us and helping to make the evening a success!
Sharing an innovative idea for a gathering and fundraiser. The Leonardo in Salt Lake created an event called the Future of Everything. They had 15 tables set up to facilitate a dinner conversation on different topics such as the future of education, the future of trees, the future of the AI. My topic was the future of women, money and power. Guests rotated for 20 minute discussions before moving onto the next table. A different course was presented with each conversation. I started by asking everyone at the table, who, in their household is the primary decision-maker around everything financial. For independent households obviously that’s one person, though there was one woman who was divorced, who said her ex-husband continues to make all her financial decisions. Most people said if they were coupled up, they made it together, that said, if not, it was more likely to be the man. In two cases, it was the woman, and they also identified as the primary breadwinner. I also went around the table and asked every participant if we could answer one question about the future of women, money and power this evening what would that question be? Needless to say I got some super interesting answers and will write about them in a future post. I think most people are tired of the fundraisers where you eat dinner and are just talked at for hours and hours. This was a wonderful way of getting to know people, having everyone in a conversational role offering the opportunity to connect at a deeper level. I learned so much! #expertinsights #futureofeverything #futureofeducation #futureofdemocracy and so many more … #fundraisingideas The Leonardo Well done Alex Hesse and team.
