"I am just a stay-at-home Mum." Don't we hear this too often? It's a sentiment echoed by countless mums dedicated to raising their families. But here's the thing—mums often diminish their experiences and undervalue their skills when it's time to re-enter the workforce. At #EpicEmpower, we're on a mission to change that narrative! Not just with any job but with sustainable, high-paying roles in evolving industries. We explore opportunities we didn't know existed—perhaps they don't yet—and we're on an EPIC journey to uncover them. I often hear this sentence when I meet mums on their first day with Epic Empower- I am JUST a Stay-at-home Mum. Our discovery sessions have led to very creative career pathways: from a stay-at-home mum with contract teacher aide work to enrolling in an instructional design course, from cleaning to contact centre roles, and from unemployment to electrical engineering. These transformations are a testament to every mum's untapped potential and versatility. If you are a recruiter or employer, please don't disregard the gaps. Behind every gap is a story of resilience, resourcefulness, and unwavering dedication. What other skills can you think of? #EmpowerMums #CareerStrategy #CareerTransformation #EpicJourney

🌟 Engaging children in educational activities is key to their growth and development! 🌟 As a recruiter, I often speak with support workers who are dedicated to creating enriching environments for children. At Paragon Social Care, we take pride in fostering such environments by equipping our support workers with the best tools and strategies. Here are a few tips we advocate to enhance child engagement that we've found to be universally effective... 1. Create a welcoming environment that sparks curiosity and enthusiasm. A child's learning space should be both inviting and stimulating. 2. Tailor activities to individual interests and learning styles for maximum impact. No two children are the same—personalising tasks can make all the difference. 3. Use interactive tools like games, puzzles, and multimedia to make learning fun. These tools keep children engaged and make complex concepts easier to grasp. 4. Encourage creativity and exploration to stimulate critical thinking. Open-ended activities allow children to think outside the box and develop problem-solving skills. 5. Offer positive reinforcement and praise to boost confidence and motivation. Recognising achievements, however small, can inspire a love for learning. At @Paragon Social Care, we believe in empowering our young minds! 💡🌱 #Education #ChildEngagement #SupportWorkers

For social work month this year, I decided to host something to honor those of us who don’t feel we fit into the traditional role or box of “social worker.” Myself and three other panelists, all with different levels of social work background in education and practice, will be exploring the transferable skills of the profession, hard conversations around shame, and carving our own paths in the field of social work. For social work students unsure of where they want to land once school is over, this is a great way to get several perspectives different than you’re hearing in class. It’s also a safe space to ask questions and explore how to pursue a non traditional path yourself ! For anyone in the field thinking of making a shift out of a “traditional” role, this is a place to feel validated and share in like minded community without judgment. And for professors and clinicians in traditional roles, we welcome you just as much to the conversation! We all contribute to the assumptions and expectations of tradition, and so the more we share with one another, the healthier and more natural these conversations become!! As a former educator, I know firsthand how challenging the transition from school to adulthood can be for students with special needs (all their support network). This week, I connected with one of our transition teachers, and we discussed how technology is helping bridge that gap. She shared a powerful example of how CentralReach's EDU technology served as a takeaway program and ongoing support during this crucial transition period. In this district, they are leveraging technology solutions to help students develop independent living and pre-vocational skills, with one excelling so much that they were offered a permanent job and continues to benefit from the technology into adulthood! 🙌 The key here wasn’t just the technology itself—it was the collaboration between educators, job coaches, and state agencies like the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), which funded the assistive technology to ensure the student had long-term support or for as long as required. Here are a few strategies that can help make transitions more successful: ✔️ Build relationships with post education agencies like DVR and explore services and funding options. ✔️ Ensure technology access continues after school ends. ✔️ Involve parents in planning 3-5 years ahead. ✔️ Facilitate cross-agency meetings for shared insights and collaboration. These partnerships create pathways for lifelong learning and independence. #SpecialNeeds #Education #TransitionPrograms #AssistiveTechnology #CentralReach #StudentSuccess #VocationalRehabilation

At TechWiseTutors, we recognize that educating individuals across various races, age groups, and backgrounds requires comprehensive training to ensure our certified educators can truly make a difference. As a result, TechWiseTutors has implemented several precautions, including requiring all educators to complete 10 hours of volunteer service within the organization and obtain certification in AODA and Workplace Health and Safety in 4 Steps. To further uphold our standards of educational excellence, we have developed an in-house course focused on training educators to work effectively with the elderly. Working With and Educating the Elderly (WWATE) is a program exclusive to TechWiseTutors educators. Its purpose is to help our team understand how and why different demographics require distinct teaching approaches. Certified by international professionals, the program emphasizes the diverse needs of our clients—ranging from new immigrants and senior citizens to underprivileged youth—all of whom are at different levels of technological proficiency and require tailored educational experiences. This is yet another exciting step toward creating an inclusive educational environment that ensures technology is accessible and understandable for everyone.

Special Ed Shortage: A Hybrid Solution Emerges? The article highlights: * Growing demand: Rising student needs coupled with provider shortages create a critical gap. * Existing model's limitations: Traditional full-time roles hinder accessibility and talent pool expansion. * Hybrid potential: Offering remote options attracts wider talent, including specialists & retirees. This approach isn't a silver bullet, but it sparks conversation. ❓What are your thoughts on hybrid models in special education? ❓Can this be part of a wider solution to the provider shortage? #specialeducation #education #workforce #hechingerreport https://lnkd.in/dBNbzpkg

On the surface you might only see a game of skill and luck 🎳 Look closer though - there is much more going on than meets the eye... "Teenvine Plus 'Next Steps' isn't just about doing the fun stuff. It's about building relationships and helping young people identify their next steps in education and life as a whole." (Paul, Next Steps project worker) Last week, teenager 'M' and Paul not only bowled (as chosen by M) but also used the time to discuss the future and help M feel listened to and valued. Now they can work together to get those plans forming into action. We work one-on-one with local young people who have special educational needs and disabilities (#SEND). 🤩 Next Steps helps give young people access to the creative freedom to express their identity however they wish. ✨ We help them make a plan for their future full of dreams and ambitions that can grow and change as they do. 💪 We believe that helping them uncover their talents, passions and aspirations, strengthens #YoungPeople and their ability to take charge of their lives. 🙌 Tackling life’s inevitable challenges, developing confidence, forging independence and growing a network of community support - as we travel alongside them. 🔧 Then, armed with a new toolbox of skills, connections and hope, we watch them take their ‘Next Steps’ from the sidelines. Cheering them on VERY loudly! 📣 https://bit.ly/GVstrength
