🌟 Happy Thanksgiving! 🌟 Today, as we gather with family and friends to give thanks, let’s take a moment to reflect on the deeper meaning behind this day. Thanksgiving is a time to celebrate abundance and a powerful reminder of the importance of love, harmony, and unity. In a world that often feels divided, we must remember that true innovation is born from compassion, understanding, and human connection. Whether in the workplace or our personal lives, the most impactful ideas and breakthroughs emerge when we work together, support each other, and embrace diverse perspectives. Innovation thrives in environments of trust, respect, and kindness. We create spaces where creativity and collaboration flourish when we foster compassion, friendship, and shared values. It’s through these bonds that we build not just successful businesses, but stronger communities and a better world for all. As we give thanks today, let’s also commit to nurturing unity and brotherhood every day. Let’s remember that progress is not just about the technologies we create, but the relationships we build and the love we share. Wishing you all a peaceful and joyous Thanksgiving! Let’s continue to spread kindness, lift each other up, and work together for a brighter, more compassionate future. 🙏💖🌍 #Thanksgiving #Gratitude #LoveAndUnity #CompassionInAction #Innovation #HumanValues #Brotherhood #Community

Embracing Community and Understanding Neighbors: Lessons from a Bracelet Happy Wednesday, everyone! As we approach Thanksgiving, I wanted to share a personal story that emphasizes the essence of community, gratitude, and understanding. Since moving to Babcock Ranch earlier this year, I've experienced an extraordinary sense of community and neighborliness. This story centers on a simple bracelet given to me by a neighbor's granddaughter, an act that reinforced the importance of looking beyond surface impressions. Too often, we rush to judge others based on limited interactions or preconceived notions. Whether it's assuming someone isn't interested in what we offer just because of an initial "No" or mischaracterizing someone's personality based on brief encounters, these assumptions can lead to misunderstandings and missed connections. I met a neighbor through our local Facebook group when I needed help with my HVAC system. Despite his blunt manner, which some misinterpreted as mean or abrasive, we became good friends. His granddaughter's thoughtful gift of bracelets, reflecting my favorite colors, highlighted how forming deeper connections can reveal the kindness and goodness in people we might otherwise overlook. This encounter made me reflect on how divisive politics and misinformation can strain relationships. As we enter the holiday season, a time naturally filled with gratitude and connection, let's carry these sentiments throughout the year. Embrace diverse opinions, engage in meaningful conversations, and prioritize understanding over judgment. We need to communicate better with our neighbors, family, and friends. By fostering open, respectful dialogue, we can strengthen our communities and create a more supportive and connected world. Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! #Community #Gratitude #Thanksgiving #Understanding #BabcockRanch #Communication #DiversityOfThought

Perfect timing and wise words from an incredible coach and beautiful human. Check out Bethany O'Connor, MA, PCC, CPCC and how she can help you tackle burnout and build resilience heading into 2025!
Executive Coach | Helping leaders manage high workload and set boundaries so they can lead with confidence on their own terms.
Thanksgiving is almost here, and for some of my #coaching clients, the thought of navigating family dynamics after a challenging election is feeling... complicated. If you’re facing this too, here’s what I’ve been sharing: 🍂 Create Intentional Boundaries: Establish clear, compassionate ground rules for conversation before gathering. This might mean agreeing to avoid or limit political discussions. Remind yourself and your family that relationships are more important than winning an argument. 🍂 Focus on Shared Connections: Deliberately create space for the relationships and experiences that unite your family. Plan activities that remind everyone of your deeper bonds - share family stories, play games, look at old photos, or create new memories together. Recognize that your shared history and love are more powerful and enduring than temporary political differences. Thanksgiving is about gratitude and togetherness, even when differences arise. How do you stay grounded during family gatherings? I'd love to hear your thoughts. #FamilyWellness #HolidayStress #MindfulConnections #CoachingTips

At the risk of pissing off half my LinkedIn feed (but let’s be real, you didn’t come here for sugarcoating), let’s talk about Thanksgiving — and the original #Shamager™, Christopher Columbus. Here’s a guy who showed up uninvited, called it leadership, and left destruction in his wake. He didn’t “discover” anything — he exploited, claimed, and profited. Sound familiar? It should, because the colonial blueprint he set up still echoes in today’s leadership failures. Now, let’s be clear: Columbus didn’t invent Thanksgiving, but the culture he symbolized — one of entitlement, exclusion, and erasure — absolutely shaped the way history is told. Take the myth of the 1621 feast. Sure, there was a shared meal between the Wampanoag and the Pilgrims, but let’s not act like it was a utopian moment of unity. The Wampanoag helped the Pilgrims survive their first winter, and in return? Displacement. Genocide. Entire communities erased within a generation. That’s the legacy we don’t like to talk about. And yet, here we are, centuries later, clinging to a sanitized story. Thanksgiving wasn’t even a thing until Abraham Lincoln made it a national holiday in 1863 — during the Civil War, no less. The whole narrative of Pilgrims and Native Americans holding hands was a carefully constructed lie designed to erase the brutal realities of colonization. It was easier to sell a feel-good myth than to face the truth. But guess what? I’m not here to make you comfortable. Truth matters, even when it makes people squirm. So this Thanksgiving, I challenge you to step out of the myth and into the truth. Reflect on the resilience of Indigenous communities who, despite everything, continue to thrive. Acknowledge the cultural richness and strength they bring to this country — and have the courage to sit with the discomfort of history. And in our workplaces? Let’s stop celebrating Shamagers™. Leadership isn’t about taking credit for others’ work or profiting at someone else’s expense. True leadership is rooted in respect, collaboration, and integrity. If that makes people uncomfortable, so be it. Change doesn’t come from comfort — it comes from hard truths and courageous conversations. Happy Thanksgiving. Let’s make it one rooted in honesty, gratitude, and a commitment to doing better — for everyone. 🦃🤍
