The Liminal Space: Leadership Training and Development was thrilled to engage with the exceptional leaders at SEDA College WA during the inaugural workshop associated with our bespoke, year-long “Leader ELEV8 Program”. ELEV8 builds upon our 2023 offering, “The Leader XLR8 Program” and represents a meticulously crafted journey, tailored to cultivate and elevate leadership excellence through eight vital domains: Building leadership authenticity. Enhancing people leadership capacity. Cultivating constructive feedback cultures. Navigating complex problem-solving. Improving environmental awareness and adaptability. Balancing energy to survive role complexity and thrive. Fostering self-insight - values, drivers and triggers. Guiding organisational change. During our first workshop, we explored the symbiotic relationship that exists between authentic leadership, empathy, trust and psychological safety. We discussed strategies and language that could be applied to build these vital aspects through the lenses of Learner, Collaborator, Challenger and Inclusion Safety and gained profound insights and practical strategies that could be implemented immediately to enhance capacity to connect with and lead others. Hugh hat-tip to Rocky Collins and Silvio Lombardi for making it happen - excited for the journey ahead! #leadership #leadershipdevelopment #education #educationalleadership

As the week draws to a close at The Liminal Space: Leadership Training and Development, we're grateful for the invaluable partnerships we have with our valued clients. Reflecting on this week's highlights, three moments shine brightly, each representing a unique journey of leadership collaboration and growth. At St Stephen's School and St Mark's Anglican Community School, participants in our year-long Agile Leadership Programs embarked on workshop three of eight, Cognitive Perspective - the willingness and ability of leaders to engage with and navigate complex problems. Guided by our shared commitment to excellence in educational leadership, we navigated the complexities of problem-solving with precision and creativity. By harnessing the collective wisdom of the group, we tackled real-time challenges with a structured approach, distinguishing between simple, chaotic, and complex problem. The result? Practical solutions forged through collaboration and innovation, setting the stage for continued success in the ever-evolving landscape of education. Over at Bob Hawke College, led by Principal, John Burke, the Strategy Team convened on Saturday to delve deep into the craftsmanship of high-performing teams. Together, we explored the intricate dynamics of leadership, embracing the diverse talents each member brings to the team while addressing the challenges that arise when time constraints and pressure combine to derail us. Through introspective exercises and strategic discussions, we uncovered the essence of authentic leadership, celebrating our strengths and charting a course for continued growth and effectiveness. As we bid farewell to another week and embrace the promise of a new one, we extend our warmest wishes to all educators and leaders - may it be filled with purpose and passion! #Leadership #LeadershipDevelopment #Education #EducationalLeadership #FeedbackCulture #AgileLeadership

Owner at The Alternative Board Western Cape l Strategic Partner for Business Owners l Value Builder Advisor
Is it better to promote from within or appoint from outside? At a recent TAB Board meeting, we deliberated on this common leadership dilemma and these four topics stood out as deciding factors. * Internal Training Excellence: High-quality internal training programs can yield exceptional leaders from within. * High Standards: Maintaining high standards ensures that only the best candidates rise through the ranks, leading to superior performance. * Long-term Success: Prioritizing the development of strong managers, even if it means higher turnover during training, is crucial for sustained success. * Culture fit: Internal managers already fit the company culture. The discussion underscored the value of perseverance and commitment to excellence in building a robust management team. In the long run, investing in high standards and rigorous training WILL pay off, creating a culture of excellence and strong leadership. #Leadership #BusinessStrategy #Management

Getting change done - with fun! Change Navigator, Executive Advisor & Coach, Facilitator, Key Notes; Fully Qualified Lawyer
The other week I had the privilege and the honor to facilitate the final event of a 24 months leadership development program we designed for one of our clients. It was the 3rd round of the program and the class was a composition of seasoned managers with tons of experience and smart, young talents with minor or no leadership experience from 7 countries. Here comes some feedback from the participants: 1. Reverse mentoring and learning with and from each other brings all generations together! 2. Bulding personal relationships can and will crack the silos across the organisation and despite cultural differences! 3. Deep understanding of the companys operating system is a pre-condition for every success! 4. Applying the companys leadership principles while working on strategic projects drives cultural change and transformation! 5. Despite your age and/or experience there is always a new leadership hack, tool or instrument to learn. 6. Last but not least: Sustainable performance, mutual values and reliable relationships are the best fuel for corporate careers! What do you think? #leadership #leadershipdevelopment #reversementoring #coaching #crackthesilos

It’s well past the time to ditch old-school leadership mentalities, and with the New Year upon us it’s a great time to get started. Use the below pointers to refine your leadership skills this year: 1. Practice humility: In order for your employees to feel comfortable and to trust you, you have to give them a reason to do so. 2. Build Trust: A trustworthy organization is one that fuels both individual employees as well as teams, which leads to teams functioning in a more meaningful way. 3. Never Stop Learning: Sapient leaders don't just commit to learning during volatile periods, but seek to create companies that are learning organizations--so much so that it becomes part of their corporate DNA. That means cultivating an organization that is always curious and constantly striving to understand new subjects. 4. Know your shared purpose: At the core of every organization is its shared purpose and values which, during times of crisis, can bolster resilience when everyone's on the same page. #staffingandrecruiting #leadershiplessons #bealeader #neverstoplearning
