The Spirit of Dantotsu: Usain Bolt, a Benchmark of Excellence The Japanese concept of "Dantotsu" stands for being the best of the best. This principle of benchmarking is perfectly embodied by none other than Usain Bolt. His journey to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, where he pursued an unprecedented treble-treble of gold medals, is a testament to his dedication, resilience, and unparalleled talent. In the documentary I AM BOLT (2016), we follow Bolt as he prepares to compete in the 100m and 200m races, striving to make history by winning these events for a record third time. Bolt's journey is not just about speed; it is about relentless pursuit of greatness, a trait that resonates deeply with the philosophy of Dantotsu. Bolt's road to Rio was filled with challenges, yet he emerged as a trailblazer, redefining what it means to be an athlete. His ability to captivate audiences worldwide, transcending nationalities, is a rare phenomenon. People everywhere rooted for him, not just for his speed but for the spirit and joy he brought to the sport. The essence of Bolt's journey is captured in his words: "I want to be remembered among the greats... like Muhammad Ali and Pele." His athletic achievements are among the greatest of all time, and his legacy will inspire future generations to strive for excellence. For Bolt, the journey was marked by relentless hard work, focus, and a desire to be the greatest. His story reminds us that true excellence requires dedication and perseverance. As Bolt says, achieving greatness is not easy, but it is possible with a clear goal and unwavering determination. At True North Lean, we reflect the spirit of Dantotsu in our pursuit of excellence in lean manufacturing principles and strategies. Just as Bolt dedicated his life to being the best, we are committed to helping organizations achieve their peak performance through continuous improvement and lean methodologies. Let's all take inspiration from Usain Bolt's incredible journey and strive to be the best in our respective fields. Together, we can achieve greatness. #LeanManufacturing #ContinuousImprovement #Dantotsu #Excellence #TrueNorthLean For more insights, visit us at www.truenorthlean.org

Systemic Coaching for Teams & Individuals 🌟 Organisational Development & Culture 🌍 Digital Architecture Transformation 🤖 Change in Everything for a Better Tomorrow 🧠🫀
This year’s #TourDeFrance is full of stories of #Resilience, #Determination, and what you can achieve when aiming for the #Stars (or the highest mountain peaks). 🚴🏿♂️ 🌟 #JonasVinegaard has already won the #TdF twice in the overall classification. After a devastating crash earlier this year, with many #BrokenBones and a #Pneumothorax, it was unclear if he could start this year or even race a bike at all. He started. And said: „Everything from now on is a bonus.“ After winning stage 11 on a mountain peak, overwhelmed and in tears, he’s still in the race to win the overall classification. 👉🏻 With #Modesty, we can relevate #Fixation and be #Grateful for what we already have in #Life. And with #Determination, we achieve the #Unbelievable. 🌟 #MarkCavendish broke the record for the most stage wins overall—with 39 years. He tried to break the over 50-year-old record of the former marvellous #EddyMerckx last year but crashed out with a broken collar bone. Struggling with #Depression already earlier in his #Career, he was devastated. People said this was his last chance and he would not be able to return. His #Team had other thoughts. He came back, and the whole team was shaped to reach just one goal: break the record for the most #TdF stage wins. Everybody was focused on this single goal, from the #CEO to the riders and the staff. On stage 5 they achieve their goal. The sprinter icon outraced his competitors and broke the #Record. It was moving to see all the riders from all the teams standing in line to hug and congratulate him. 👉🏻 With #TeamSpirit, we can achieve what nobody reached before and can make a lasting impact. And finally, as a single person, we’re only as #Strong as our #Team. 🌟 #BiniamGirmay from #Eritrea is the first black African rider to win a stage at the #TdF and will most likely win (yes, I’m biased) the green jersey for the sprinter’s classification. For a sport which white people dominated for ages, this probably is the biggest story. I can only imagine what level of #Perseverance he would have needed to become a professional bike rider and now aim for one of the most prestigious titles in cycling. It was even-opening to see his team, consisting of (white) people from across Europe and South Africa, throwing in all they had on the road to get him into a position to win races. 👉🏻 #Inclusion requires the systemically dominant group to invite minorities actively, give them #Space, and #Celebrate their successes equally to their own. While all of this is from the world of #Sports, I believe there’s a lot to learn from this for our #Career and #Personal life. There’s no single path to reaching our #Goals, and #Success is individual. It’s about being aware of what makes us #Grateful for the #Life we have and shaping an #Inclusive #Team around us, accompanying us on our #Journey. 🙏 Which sports (or other non-business) stories #Inspire your career and personal life? ❓

𝗧𝗔𝗚 𝗿𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟭𝟬 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀! 🏃 🏁 Our consultants usually go the extra mile for their clients. But can they make 10 miles? They took on that challenge last Sunday in Antwerp. For some, it’s a sports goal you work towards for months; for TAG, it’s an ambitious teambuilding event: running 16 kilometres. After weeks of warming up thighs and gulping down sports drinks, our consultants were finally ready to run the challenge. And sure thing: they did it! As one team, they crossed the finish. Proud of these champions. 🥇 #TAG #Consultancy #ProjectManager #BusinessStrategy #Teambuilding #Teamwork #10Miles

I build and unleash the capability in teams to significantly improve performance and customer experience. | Helping good people do good things, better. | Author of: Unleashing The Improvement Mindset
Overnight, Mark Cavendish, at the age of 39, became the rider to capture the greatest ever number of stage wins at the Tour de France - now with 35 stage wins. I love cycling, and in following Mark, seen how he's applied the mindset of continuous improvement to everything he does. Cycling is his workplace. And there, he's shown courage, commitment, resilience, attention to detail and metrics, class and grace. And now, the fruits of victory. His effort and pain was temporary, and now his legacy is forever. We can unleash this mindset in our workplace too. Continuous improvement is not about just making changes so processes flow better, it is about changing everything that we can to improve performance and to feel that change. Yes, feel is the right word. Sure, make decisions based on data, but the success of those decisions is what we feel - and that's what should drive us - as it does in sport. Sport is a workplace - and there's so much organisations can adopt from sport into their own environment. The skill, the passion, the courage, the teamwork, and the feeling of results. Here's a 100 second tribe to Mark Cavendish. Even if you don't know much about the Tour, I think you'll like this... https://lnkd.in/g-nZv67x
