Earlier this week our CEO & Founder Mark Burns attended the inaugural NSW Government Men’s Mental Health Forum in partnership with the Movember Institute of Men’s Health. The forum brought together mental health advocates, experts and those with a lived experience of mental illness, with the aim of raising awareness of men’s mental health and working together towards lowering men’s suicide rates. The room was privileged to hear inspiring stories from Greg Inglis and Cameron Merchant, constructive insights from Dr. Zac Seidler, and participate in networking and collaboration of knowledge, ideas and strategies to address men's mental health. It was an incredible room to be in and we are proud to be a part of the conversation. #TheManWalk #WalkTalkSupport #ConnectingMen #StrengtheningCommunities #CombatingSocialIsolationAndLoneliness #MensHealth #MensMentalHealth

Mental health is a public health issue that starts with the individual, but requires us all working together to make a difference. While normalizing conversations about mental health is key to ending the stigma, we also understand the importance and the impact of having the support of our government officials. The Proactive Mental Health Awareness Proclamation is a wonderful first step for cities to take to get the conversation started. If you'd like to continue this conversation in your community, please visit hftd.org/pmhap for more information on how to educate your city council! #HFTD #ProactiveSuicidePrevention #MentalHealthEducation

Mental health issues and problems can affect individuals from diverse backgrounds and some may face barriers in accessing the resources they need. Diverse communities may experience a disproportionate impact, and limited access to medical and community resources can exacerbate the issue. It's important to recognize these challenges and work towards creating more equitable access to mental health support for everyone. Let's continue to raise awareness and advocate for change. #mentalhealthawareness #equity #communityresources

Lived Experience Advisor | Speaker | Author | Advocate | Empowering change through mental health advocacy
Starting conversations about mental health can spark incredible change, but… We need to go a step further to continue to fight stigma and discrimination around mental health and make sure everyone gets the care and support they need. What are some examples you have seen of systemic policy change that has made a difference and what do you wish to see take place? #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #MakeChange #MentalHealthParity #ADA
“MAKE SYSTEMIC POLICY CHANGES” THIS MENTAL HEALTH MONTH 🌱 Linea Johnson, mental health advocate and CEO + Founder of The Thrive Shift, reflects on the positive increase in mental health awareness in communities and how we must now dig deeper. People who reach out for mental healthcare and are hindered by systematic issues deserve justice and access to mental health resources. Advocating for change in systematic policies feels like a big task, but the first steps are crucial. 🔹How would you continue advocating for policy changes? MHMarketing.org

Mental Health Awareness Week gives us a chance to refocus and reprioritize mental health in the UK. While TTAD has been making a difference, giving hope to millions, too many people with mental illness still cannot access the care they need when they need it. Digital Health Solutions such as STOP offer proven benefits in the management of mental health conditions and can close gaps that presently afflict our mental health services.
