Last week I was a part of a panel discussion at the Vonage x e27 Indonesia Roadshow! 👏 During our conversations we explored themes around dissecting the future of customer experience. We engaged in forward-thinking discussions with my fellow panelists Chirag Kotak, Juinita Senduk, and Suzanna Buniardi, skillfully moderated by Rio Ferdinand Kiantara. In our conversations, we emphasized the significance of beginning with customer-centricity and empathy. Employing AI and data analytics can aids in deciphering customer tension points. Connecting with customers should be help during moments of tension instead of inundating them with irrelevant messages. It's vital to acknowledge that AI extends beyond chatbots, enabling personalized experiences. Mastery of omnichannel strategies entails grasping customer behavior across all platforms, crucial in Indonesia's mobile-first economy. TLDR : I read through 55 pages of the report, and picked out the key ASEAN B2B Tech Trends for 2024 so you don't have to 😎 It just isn't said enough - in the B2B tech landscape of Southeast Asia, achieving marketing and sales excellence demands a nuanced approach. Blending omnichannel strategies with multi-touch approaches, from the digital pulse of social media to the impactful nature of face-to-face interactions. It also requires an astute understanding of the priorities of ASEAN enterprises and the areas in which ROIs are expected and investments are being channeled into. A recent AIBP survey of over 800 IT and business leaders across Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam reveals exactly that : priorities, challenges, and opportunities shaping the region's tech landscape. Was great to be part of #TechweekAsia as a Moderator for 2 panels with some awesome panelists who brought some amazing experience/expertise from industries like Consumer electronics, FMCG, Fashion , Luxury etc. Panel 1 - Building a Seamless O2O Journey: From Online Inspiration to In-Store Conversion Andrew Kang (江子敬) Head of Department, Online Business - ex-Samsung, ex-NVIDIA, ex-Sony Kitty Chiu, Strategic Partner - Solidea by Calzificio Pinelli SRL Danny Ho, Executive Director and CFO - Sa Sa International Holdings Limited Key Points: 1. Understanding the Customers : Customers dont care about the channels. For them its the experience that defines the brand perception 2. Leveraging Technology for a Seamless Transition: Explore tools and technologies that facilitate the online-to-offline journey. 3. Measuring O2O Success: Identify key metrics for tracking effectiveness of omnichannel initiatives. Special mention to Andrew Kang (江子敬) for highlighting focus on key metrics - RPM ( Revenue , Profitability and Market share ) and not to get too infatuated with too many KPIs . And Danny Ho observations of moving away from traditional metrics like Average Bucket size..to metrics like Average monthly spend (Resonated given my Telco cap - Telco industry has traditionally used ARPU per month as a metric ) Panel 2 - Beyond the Hype: Unlocking the Potential of Augmented Reality (AR) in e-Commerce Ad de Goeij, Global Director IT Commerce - FrieslandCampina Guan Hin Tay , Creative Chairman - ex-BBDO Worldwide Singapore Muzzammil Ghafoor Ghafoor, Digital Commerce Lead (Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand) - PC - Unilever Panel explored the bigger view on the difference between VR , AR and how the boundaries are diminishing. 1) Some interesting Customer use cases by industries like Home Furnishing ( IKEA) , Retail ( Marks & Spencer ) and Dairy ( Bringing Farm to home ) were discussed 2.) AR in the backend - New use cases being explored in Workforce optimization, Warehouse management etc which bring improvement to the bottomline 3.) ROI of AR applications - In the end the RoI has to be clearly tangible wrt CX and the impact on Topline and Bottomline. One super interesting point which was consistent in both panels was the importance of use of Data for organizations. You may have the best tools/ platforms but it does not matter if the Data in the organization is not in the right format to be tracked and analysed. Irrespective of the maturity organizations need to get this step right in their CX journeys . As OneByZero, this is something which is something we observe closely we advise clients in the region . Unlocking the data potential and the insights in the data can lead to improved business outcomes. Personally for me , was great to be back as part of #TechWeekAsia after more than 6 years and great job Andrew Kiwanuka Phoebe AU and the whole CloserStill Media for a well executed event .
