Balance. It is something we are all going after in almost every area of our lives and to have a successful company we better have a balanced team. I was reminded today of the much needed balance that women bring to the trades industry. I walked into one of our dynamic classes at The Master's Apprentice Program to find them doing a fun team building exercise! When I asked the instructor was "Erika" chosen as the captain? His response was, "She is ALWAYS the captain"! Interesting...and I have noticed time and time again, how the increasing number of women in the trades is one of the major keys to a great future ahead for all of us. What I personally witnessed from Erika was her ability to clearly communicate, rally the men in her group and she knew when to push, when to silently observe and just the right time to share a new idea.
