Know what to add to your whisky
I spent a few very pleasant hours with Charlie recently, evaluating the effect BIRKENTREE Highland Birchwater has on whiskies, and a very illuminating time it was, too. " there is a lot of nonsense talked about water in whisky; but the only real difference water makes is what you add to your glass. That is why Birkentree works so well ". " Birkentree enhances the mouthfeel of a whisky; more rounded; filling the mouth; teeth-coating " Edinburgh Whisky Academy, Christopher Coates, Blair Bowman, Blair Sterrick, Scotch Whisky Association, Victor Brierley, Vikki Bruce, Fraser Hynd, Scottish Business Network

Why it Matters:
Living Black History! Cheers to Montclair Brewery for sharing their story on NJ PBS about opening and managing a Black-owned brewery against the odds. Less than 1% of craft breweries in the U.S. are owned by African Americans. The National Black Brewers Association was formed to help African American brewers and brewery owners with their specific needs and issues. Denise Ford-Sawadogo of Montclair Brewery is on the NB2A board and sharing history!

Detail-oriented and performance-driven professional with extensive experience streamlining complex operational workflows to drive business excellence and profitability.
“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts” -Winston Churchill Not every failure is a reason to give up. Yes it can be discouraging but it does not mean you are incapable of correcting the issues. Some helpful advice to overcome failures: leaders should demonstrate resilience by staying strong and composed, viewing setbacks as opportunities for growth. They need to be adaptable, quickly adjusting strategies in response to new information, and accountable, taking responsibility for mistakes to build trust. Effective leaders are skilled problem-solvers, involving their teams to find solutions, and they communicate openly to maintain alignment and clarity. Emotional intelligence allows them to manage emotions and support their team through challenges, while a clear vision helps maintain focus on long-term goals. By applying these skills, leaders can turn failures into learning opportunities and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

With the Savannah Bananas we've failed every step of the way. But it's our willingness to keep coming to bat, even after failing, that has driven our success. From our first shipment of t-shirts having too many n's in Bananas, to our first All You Can Eat night in Savannah where fans had to wait over two hours for food, to our first ticket launch shutting down our system, to our first game on prime time television blacking out, we've failed over and over again. But it's our ability to get through the messy to get to the great that keeps us moving forward. We succeed because we fail and we're not afraid of failure. It's just part of our scar tissue and what has built us into who we are today. If we are not failing, we are not trying big enough things.

Pop Culture Friday! Watch this video of Jesse Cole, owner of the Savannah Bananas. Fail, and fail often. Be brave to continue to fail. It's the best way to learn! Be brave enough to suck at something new. I'm launching new things this year. And I am sure we will stumble. But I'm going to act as if, and keep testing and iterating. Am I afraid it's going to fail? Sure. But I'm going to be more pissed off if I don't try. Hint: I'm using the DANO method on myself. Discovering a new niche, Applying my transferable skills, Nourishing the passion with grit, and Overcoming my fears to get after it. How are you using the DANO method for your own life?
