A really interesting topic here and a great article, well worth a read. There are essentially only two ways of increasing optical network capacity: increasing spectral efficiency and expanding the amount of spectrum. Infinera’s Paul Momtahan highlights the possibilities for each approach in ISE Magazine: #OpticalNetworking #SpectralEfficiency #FiberSpectrum

I am happy to share that another research article presented at the I&CPS 2024 conference is available online at IEEE XPlore. Another great effort from the VoltServer Inc. Research & Product Development team. In this work, we proposed some system protection algorithms utilizing self-heating properties of NTC resistors to optimize the soft-start mechanism in fault managed powers systems. This proposed method offers an energy-efficient inrush current limiting scheme that maximizes the startup capabilities. You are more than welcome to check it out if you are interested. #VoltServer #VoltServerResearch #Faultmanagedpower #InrushCurrentControl

No one know what I did, so after 15 years later after my dissertation, the Compton backscaterring technique was resumed as Inverse-Compton scattering to produce the X rays. Somehow recently, I realized some journal finally cited my thesis after more than a decade of my work. And today, I saw a lot of posters regarding to that subject in the IPAC24. I want to see how they can learn what I did and what I failed. However, no one knows what I did so far. It is very interesting to talk about what they are doing in this in the exterme technical detailed discussion which they didn’t understand what I asked. Welcome to the new way to generate a photon beam be using the Compton backscattering phoemenun ( mostly now people uses an inverse Compton scattering, which I don’t like that jargon.) Definitely, I saw the technical improvements to overcome my past problem. So I am so excited to see what they can do. I may join the research again to build a new way to generate the X rays source. Here is the complete thesis. https://lnkd.in/g9e_TUTT #ipac24 #inversecompton #compton
