Are you looking for a way to nurture and grow your relationship with God? Morning devotions are a great way to spend daily time with the Lord, but it can be valuable to go beyond this daily routine and spend extended time alone with God in prayer. 🙏 We are called into a relationship with God, and this fellowship is nurtured by spending time with Him. Spending extended time alone with God can seem daunting, but here are some tips to get started: ⏰ Schedule your time. 📖 Take essential items, like a Bible, paper and pen with you. 💤 Stay awake and alert by getting adequate rest the night before. 📝 Take notes during this time to give yourself a record of what the Lord is speaking to you. Former Navigators President, Lorne Sanny, shared what the outcome of spending this time with the Lord should look like: “The result of your day in prayer should be answers to the two questions Paul asked the Lord on the Damascus road (Acts 22:6-10). Paul’s first question was, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ The Lord replied, ‘I am Jesus.’ You will be seeking to know Him, to find out who He is. The second question Paul asked was, ‘What shall I do, Lord?’ the Lord answered him specifically. This should be answered or reconfirmed for you in that part of the day when you unhurriedly seek His will for you." Unified Manna - C H O F Ministry "Faith: More Than Belief, a Lens to Reimagine" “A Minister’s Calling” Romans 14:4 (CSB) - 4 Who are you to judge another’s household servant? Before his own Lord he stands or falls. And he will stand, because the Lord is able to make him stand. "Beloved, let us remember that the discernment of a minister's calling “is not” ours to judge. We are not the overseers of their spiritual journey, nor the ones who summoned them to their divine purpose. If their unique mission does not resonate with our beliefs, it’s our responsibility to respectfully part ways, recognizing that our role is not to act as deputies in God's divine selection." 1 Corinthians 12:4-6 (CSB) - 4 Now there are different gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 There are different ministries, but the same Lord. 6 And there are different activities, but the same God works all of them in each person. What does it mean to ask, seek, and knock with faith? In Matthew 7:7, we are encouraged to persistently seek and trust God to provide for our needs. This powerful message reminds us that when we pray with faith and perseverance, we will receive what we ask for. How can we apply this lesson in our daily lives? When faced with challenges or uncertainty, we are called to trust in God's faithfulness and continue to seek His guidance. By approaching God with a sincere heart and unwavering belief, we demonstrate our trust in His infinite power and love for us. Through prayer and faith, we can overcome obstacles and experience His blessings in abundance. Let us embrace the transformative power of prayer and trust in God's promises. As we seek His wisdom and guidance, may we experience His peace that surpasses all understanding. #Faith #Prayer #TrustGod #SeekandKnock Reference: The Holy Bible: New International Version. (2011). (Wisdom) Caught In The Trap Of Compassion Proverbs 6:1-4 My child, have you promised to be responsible for someone else's debts? 2 Have you been caught by your own words, trapped by your own promises? 3 Well then, my child, you are in that person's power, but this is how to get out of it: hurry to him, and beg him to release you. 4 Don't let yourself go to sleep or even stop to rest. (GNT) Be careful making promises you can’t keep. Ecclesiastes 5:2 Be careful when you make promises to God. Be careful about what you say to him. Don’t let your feelings cause you to speak too soon. God is in heaven, and you are on the earth. So you need to say only a few things to him. This saying is true: Ecclesiastes 5:5 It is better to promise nothing than to promise something and not be able to do it. (ERV) Deuteronomy 23:21-23 “When you make a promise to the Lord your God, don’t be slow to pay everything you promised. The Lord your God will demand that you pay it. You will sin if you don’t pay what you promised. 22 If you don’t make a promise, you are not sinning. 23 But you must do what you say you will do. If you choose to make a promise to the Lord your God, you must do what you promised. James 5:12 My brothers and sisters, it is very important that you not use an oath when you make a promise. Don’t use the name of heaven, earth, or anything else to prove what you say. When you mean yes, say only “yes.” When you mean no, say only “no.” Do this so that you will not be judged guilty. Anna the Prophetess Reflect Prophetesses are not often discussed in biblical discussions, however, St. Anna the Prophetess deserves some notice. She was a longtime widow who was prayerful, elderly, devoted to God, and recognized Christ when he was presented at the Temple! Many thought-provoking details are packed into a short passage! “[Anna the Prophetess] gave thanks to God and spoke about the child” (Lk 2:38). Pray St. Anna the Prophetess, Please pray for me, that I might bear life’s difficulties with trust. Pray that I might keep a steady devotion to God. Pray that I might recognize Christ in my life. Ask God that I might share his glory with others however I can. Amen. Act Consider reading St. Anna the Prophetess’ short story within the Presentation at the Temple narrative in the Bible (Lk 2:22, 36–38). You might want to read a handful of preceding verses to enrich an understanding of the setting. How might you connect to St. Anna’s story? How might you let her life create a bit of a shift in yours?

Remain steadfast in the face of challenges. Romans 8:24-25 NKJV "For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance." Perseverance isn't just a matter of enduring hardship; it’s an unwavering faith in the promises of God. The Greek word for perseverance implies more than sticking it out; it means to remain steadfast in the face of challenges, to hold fast with no option to give up. In our walk of faith, perseverance reflects our trust in God's character and His faithfulness. Declarations. I am steadfast and immovable. I trust God without a doubt. Prophetic Instructions. One of the phrases we often hear to close in prayer is, “In Jesus’ name, amen.” There is nothing wrong in closing prayer with that phrase, but do we know what praying in Jesus’ name means? The misconception with some is to think any request that concludes with these words will automatically be fulfilled. But praying in Jesus’ name is not some spiritual guarantee for our wishes. It is true that Jesus promised to do whatever we ask in His name (John 14:14). But we cannot base our concept of prayer on this one verse without considering the context and other teachings on the subject throughout the Bible. This leads to confusion and disappointment when God does not answer as we expect. Praying in Jesus’ name simply means asking according to His will so that the Father will be glorified in the Son (v.13). Our requests must be consistent with Jesus’ desires and purposes, which are revealed to us in Scripture. Also, our motives should be to glorify God and not just simply to please ourselves. When you and I pray this way, we can confidently say, “In Jesus’s name,” and have faith that God will answer. #prayer #jesusname #hiswill #father #god #glorified #desires #purposes #reveal #scripture #motives #faith #trust #answer

If you want to know God better, and understand prayer more deeply, read this book. I know it’s a tall order, but Peckham does not disappoint. He skillfully, and humbly tackles prayer from a biblical-canonical perspective. It’s not simply about why God answers or does not answer prayer. Peckham takes his reader on a journey through Scripture where we discover the complexity to why God does what He does. In this book, you will discover why God’s character of love, and His commitment to act morally is central to understanding terms like petitionary, and intercessory prayer. Peckham does not accept or give you cliché answers, rather he let’s you discover what Christ does to defeat Satan, and the angelic beings who follow him. This influences our world in ways that are difficult to understand. It is incredibly helpful and comforting to know that God does hear my prayers on a personal level, and when life is hard, I can rest assured that God is with me. He is working on my behalf, but He respects free will and He does not act out of character. He is trustworthy, full of love, He knows the future, and He is all-powerful. But He cannot just do whatever He wants. You can order his book here: https://amzn.to/3A2129y

Hebrews 11:1-5 (KJV) "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
