Running a business in California is becoming nearly impossible with the current regulatory and tax environment. Golden Together has put forward many common-sense policy ideas that could help bring back stability for current and future business owners and job creators. "In 2011, California’s state budget was $98 billion. Over eight years in office, Brown doubled it to $199 billion (despite there being no measurable increase in population served). Under Governor Gavin Newsom the state budget has grown to $330 billion - and now must cope with a $73 billion projected deficit" #goldentogether #california #taxes #unemployment #regulation https://lnkd.in/gRPfD9E7

It is always interesting to compare different states’ budgets. Taking into account state population sizes, fascinating seeing how some states are just more efficient in providing basic government services.

As a follow-up to my recent post today, on trouble for high tax cities and states, just on cue, this article highlights the issues facing these communities and supports my analysis. Thank you California, for an exemplary exhibit of political excess. Wait until CRE tax revenue declines are factored in 12 to 24 months from now and cities like San Francisco and LA request more state funding...bloodbath for CA. https://lnkd.in/gCKkvZCM

Hello, District 18 (Alameda, Emeryville, and Oakland). I want to bring to your attention the impact of ACA 13 (Assembly Constitutional Amendment) vote by our current Assemblymember Mia Bonta. This amendment significantly raises the voter approval requirement for any state or local measure that seeks to amend the California Constitution. It aims to restrict the people's right to vote on additional or increased taxes, placing a burden on the community. If elected, I will strongly oppose ACA 13, ensuring that people have the right to vote on tax matters. With the rising costs of food, gas, rent, and mortgage, every dollar matters. Vote for Andre Sandford on Nov 5, 2024, for California State Assembly District 18 to safeguard your hard-earned money. #taxreform #votingrights #protectyourmoney #voteforchange #ACA13 #taxation #CaliforniaAssembly #District18 #AndreSandford

🗣️ Justice: What justice? The tax cuts yesterday could have been better invested in our declining public services rather than the eye watering council tax rises that most are now saddled with. The justice system, a fundamental public service has been given some investment but not enough to keep us safe and our society just and prosperous. Instead, there has been no significant funding boost in the budget for legal aid, no end to the forever-growing court backlogs, no end to victims, witnesses, and defendants waiting years to have their case heard, for families waiting for financial relief, for children to know with whom they will live, and for companies to recover monies they are owed. Confidence in our courts is at an all-time low. An opportunity has been missed to properly invest in and fund this vital public service, the fourth emergency service, the justice system. A failure to significantly invest in the justice system is not without consequences for the outcomes people want and need. Without adequate funding and resources, access to justice remains the privilege of the few and out of reach for the many when faced with life-changing legal issues. #springbudget #accesstojustice #justicesystem

It's true that politicians do accomplish many things; most is just not helpful. What we have in the Golden State are people that seek power with the sole purpose of creating more laws, more spending, and more chaos for the families calling California home. Let's take our Governor, Gavin Newsom, for instance. He made the statement two years ago, “No other state in American history has ever experienced a surplus as large as this” as he unveiled a revised $300 billion 2022-2023 budget, which was $14 billion higher than his original proposal months earlier. Within two years, the state is now in a deficit of $45 billion dollars. Living in a state with the most socialist attempts to solve societies challenges has given us a front row seat to the fact that a blue big government isn't the answer and nor does it have the answers. Blue equals less freedom, higher taxes, more red tape, and more and more regulations. Power and control by the political elite in California have not bettered the lives of citizens. Just ask anyone trying to build something in this state or any family trying to survive in #California. Don't be surprised by what you hear. It's just so sad.

3moImagine if the housing wasn’t so expensive there and the property tax revenue would fall. That state would be in serious trouble.
