A Fruitful Afternoon at the ‘Global Creator Culture Summit’ With a variety of speakers, it's clear why ‘The Content Creator Economy’ is becoming more interesting. From the smaller to larger scale, creators showcase their uniqueness and 'creative' content, generating sources of income that benefit not only sponsors, agencies and platforms but also local communities. We have seen a fractured media landscape for many years, and there is room for Content Creators, serving different and specific interests, to grow. As for us, there is much more to explore and apply in marketing communication strategies. Whether you're a small startup or a large company, one thing is true - your audience needs to trust you. Why should they trust you? 1️⃣ You're transparent and authentic 2️⃣ You respond and engage with them 3️⃣ You consistently post useful and value-packed content Remember, people connect with other people. Here's a tip: Take the time to understand your audience, speak directly to them, and make sure they know there's a real human behind the brand they're interacting with.

Often times creatives feel pressured to reinvent the wheel and do something that "has never been done". While that is sometimes possible, and is amazing when it happens, there is nothing wrong with finding inspiration and adding your twist to it. During Super Bowl week, we were able to hire a model to do some man on the street content. With only about 2 days notice, and little time to brainstorm concepts while covering other events: I immediately opened TikTok and YouTube to find inspiration. This video below is a perfect example of finding a concept online that inspires you, and making it your own. Did we invent the format? No. Did we adapt it to our channel and did it make for a fun piece of content? Yes. Don't spend too much time trying to reinvent the wheel, when you can find inspiration and adapt it in your own way.

Here’s what you are doing wrong while engaging with other creators' content! You comment on their post and disappear. I dug deeper into why people do this. No twist This group of people is only commenting for better visibility. Which is good but, What about developing genuine relationships with your fellow creators? This is what you’re missing out. Instead, go on their posts and engage genuinely: - Ask questions to initiate a conversation. - Add your POV. - Answer their questions. - Disagree with them(Logically + Respectfully). It is very disrespectful when you don’t answer if they have asked a question from you, It tells them that you are only here for your benefit. Sounds SELFISH, right? Here’s something: not all feedback is valuable or true. I recently received feedback from a brand, via a third party, that my Instagram feed contains ‘too many text-based posts’. With respect, no it doesn’t. My text-based posts frequently outperform other content formats in terms of engagement, they are brilliant for saveability and shareability, and my audience can digest them in their own time and space, without feeling overstimulated by sound and video. A recent ad that was my most engaged ever? Text-based post. A focus for me this year is improving the quality and frequency of my video content, and I’m investing time and money in this, but I will always include text-based content in my strategy, because it’s highly valuable. It’s up to you to decide what works best for your platforms - sometimes feedback is valuable, but sometimes it’s just noise.
