I doubt that I will ever see this in real life. What strikes me? It appears to have been designed by using bits of flat images as reference. It is amazing how far "out of whack" things can get if you under estimate one of the three dimensions that our binocular eyesight is used to looking at in real life. Most photos in the QE2 lifetime will have been taken by single lenses. You can't easily make an accurate three dimensional piece from that without lots of physical measurements as well. There is something Picassoesque about it. Which reminds me of HRH photo's that go viral, when people start analysing whose hand is where and so on. Looks like a bronze created by not enough information in the calculations. It looks honest and not without humour to me. I think it will make people smile. I wonder how the actual costs break down in time materials meetings etc. from concept to completion compared to actual money changing hands etc.? Greater or less than £500K We'll never know.
