How can I be a volunteer for this project? This is something I really wish to do in my community. I come from a riverine community in the southern part of Nigeria, and our water is heavily covered with trash. I’d really love to execute a project like this or an awareness campaign.

Glad to see the focus shift to rivers- stopping plastic before it gets to the gyres. Just as we discussed more than 7 years ago :)

I guess you could say it is a good start. Congratulations. Well done 👏👏 How much is still left? How much trash flows into the rivers and oceans every month? What effort will it take to enable you to ‘finish the job one day’? It might sound negative, but as the saying goes, prevention is better than cure. So we urgently need to stop the inflow

I love to see the cleanup working so good... but what are we going to do to stop the pollution from happening?

Keep making it and you will have to keep removing it and then where does it go? Marine plastic pollution is a more than serious environmental and health issue. Good to start with those who will inherit the massive problems associated with plastic pollution in our oceans. Flidgywumper Saves the Seas is a children's book that engages/entertains and educates, but most importantly inspires children AND the adults in their lives to care and act toward turning the tide of plastic pollution that worsens every day. The book is linked from www.flidgywumper.com along with a directory of organizations working to address this issue.

I am very impressed by what Ocean Cleanup has become. Ever since I read about it years ago I am a fan of this project and supported many times already financially. Keep doing what you are doing - you are superstars!

I am very proud of what you are achieving and that the world can see what/how much garbage is thrown/dumped into the oceans.

It is sad that there is that much, and unfortunately even more that needs to be cleaned up. So happy to see all the efforts setting up systems at the rivers before anything get's into the ocean. Keep up the great work!
