🌟 Advocacy Alert: Supporting Brodie and Promise 🌟 As an NDIS Support Coordinator, I’m deeply concerned about the new restrictions affecting 12-year-old Brodie and his beloved horse, Promise. These new rules seem to overlook the true needs of those they’re meant to support, creating unnecessary barriers for Brodie, who already faces many challenges in his daily life. Brodie and Promise share a special bond, one that brings joy and comfort to his life. It’s disheartening to see such restrictions come into play, seemingly without understanding the unique and valuable support that animals like Promise provide. Discrimination against disabled individuals is not new, but these recent changes make it clear that our government needs to better understand and address the real-world impacts on those they serve. It’s crucial that we stand up for fair and compassionate treatment for all, ensuring that support systems truly support those in need. We must advocate for Brodie and others in similar situations, pushing for a system that recognizes and upholds their rights and needs. Kick the can. Its lighter and brighter in my part of the world and for the cubs, this means outside activities. Kick the can is their favourite game to play. The rules are simple - 1) The cubs have to hide 2) The leaders then have to try and find them. 3) If they are spotted the leader has to run (yes run) back to the can (milk carton filled with stones) and say their name before the cub reaches it. 4) That cub if beaten is then in prison. 5) If a cub beats a leader back to the can first, they kick it and release all of the captured cubs. 6) Leaders are not allowed to "doggy guard" this means wait by the can. 7) its not a real prison of course as no crime has been commited, just a bunch of cones. This is a simple game that teaches them patience, team building and gives them confidence by demonstrating they can thrash a 54 year old man in a running race.
