#PacificEducation | Through the newly endorsed Pacific Qualifications Recognition project, SPC and New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) will work closely with the Pacific national agencies to establish strong, trusted relationships between the Pacific Qualifications Framework and the New Zealand national qualifications frameworks and systems. This will, in time, enable new opportunities for Pacific communities as the quality of post-secondary education and training delivery in the region increases. ✅ From 15 to 19 April 2024, the project team hosted the nine countries in a regional workshop on the referencing of qualifications frameworks in Wellington. We took this opportunity to hear from our country representatives and stakeholders about their expectations. 👉 Read more: https://bit.ly/3LeYEys 📆 From 15 to 19 July, SPC and NZQA will be convening the nine countries in Nadi, Fiji, for the Technical Working Group meeting to discuss the project's progress and areas that need attention. This is an important pledge, as not only does it demonstrate to government the commitment of the sector to equity and standards in international student recruitment it also shows international students that we are committed to their fair and transparent treatment. #UKAQF #BUILA #ukcisa #uuki
🎓We're proud to sign the UK Agent Quality Framework pledge, ensuring a high-quality service from our agents and the best experience for our international students. Dr. Matthew Andrews, Chief Operating Officer at #UniOfGlos, signed the pledge reinforcing our commitment to the best agent governance and management practices. ✍️📚 The AQF is a quality assurance toolkit for universities to use with all aspects of agent selection, training and performance reviews. With majority of our international students relying on agents' support, we have already implemented AQF recommendations like updating our agent contracts and promoting the National Code of Ethics across our agent network. By embracing this pledge, we're committed not just to academic excellence but also to the dreams and aspirations of our global student community. 💪📈 #UKAQF #BUILA #ukcisa #uuki

This full speech is worth downloading, it reflects a positive direction for the ESG, Douglas B. president ENQA: European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education 'Quality assurance needs to enable and facilitate the adaptation of our higher education systems, and underpin recognition and mobility'... the new ESG need to be flexible and bring to life the second pillar of the ESG – quality enhancement – adding value through the enhancement of agency and institutional practice...' this very much aligns to the vision of Padraig Walsh with our enhancement-led approach to quality and external reviews at Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI). The future is bright!

The persistent issue of illegitimate colleges proliferating throughout South Africa remains a significant concern. It is critical for students and their parents to ensure that entities offering education and training are accredited. Registration with the Department of Education is mandatory for all education and training providers offering complete qualifications. Before enrolling in any qualification, make sure you understand the accreditation status. Check if the institution is registered with the Department of Education and accredited by Umalusi or a quality council like a SETA. Registration and accreditation are separate processes. Ensure private providers display their registration certificates and ask for the accreditation number. Umalusi's website lists accredited institutions, and SAQA's website provides SETA accreditation information.
