We’ve been in the events industry for 2 years, so here’s how we’ve done: 2023: 21 events 2024: 25 events We have doubled our “earnings” this year versus last year. We’ve tried to keep our expenses low: meaning not buying the latest technology available, or adding too much inventory. A handful of these events have been sponsorships as well as being a “white-label” partner to others in the industry. The majority of our leads have come from Instagram or word of mouth. So although these stats might not be earth shattering, to us it means we are moving in the right direction. Success does not come overnight but we have been consistent with our growth and learning more every day. What we don’t want is to be busy every weekend; after all we have a family to raise. But we do want to be the best at what we do. So as we end the year with our final event, we just want to encourage all small businesses to KEEP GOING! Keep learning, keep growing and put yourselves out there, and keep your goals for the year and beyond in mind. We can’t wait to see what 2025 has in store!
The year isn’t over yet but we are approaching our TWO YEAR anniversary! To commemorate, we wanted to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to all of our clients and their guests for welcoming us into their world to help capture and celebrate life’s special moments. We share in the smiles and laughter because life is a gift! #njphotobooth #photoboothfun

Whatever sector we're in, it's often said that we neglect the very thing we help others with, either in ourselves or in our business. So too for us at Heartward. We may have spent most of our adult lives exploring for our clients how to communicate to greatest effect, or how to ensure external representations match the original intent, but as small business people, our own business can get left behind. Too much time working in the business, rather than on it. To celebrate our 5th birthday and our 6th year of operation, we are currently refreshing the way we show ourselves to the outside world. Its time. After navigating COVID only 14 months after we started, it's time. After having our heads down to grow our business, it's time. After evolving and finessing what we do, it's time. Time to grow up a little. To value our own organisation as much as we value the wonderful work of the organisations we work with. Who better to partner with us on this again, than the talented Zoë Scott :) And it starts with a refreshed colour palette. We've dropped one colour and added two. Given what’s happening in the world, granted this may seem surface, flippant even. But if you are going to run a business, it’s hard work, but it can be fun too. Goodness knows we all need some fun. Do you like it?

🌎 Celebrating the Spirit of Giving: St. Nicholas Day What festive traditions does St. Nicholas Day hold in your heart? Observed on December 6, St. Nicholas Day is about the joy of generosity and the power of small, meaningful acts of kindness. Rooted in centuries-old traditions, it honors St. Nicholas, the patron saint of children and sailors, whose legacy inspires us to give selflessly and embrace the magic of the season. How is it celebrated around the world? - In the Netherlands and Germany: Children leave their shoes out at night, hoping to find small gifts, sweets, or even poems in the morning. - In France: The day includes parades, storytelling, and the exchange of gifts. - In America: St. Nicholas Day is a quieter celebration, with traditions often tied to family heritage. Simple Ways to Celebrate St. Nicholas Day: - Give Thoughtful Gifts: It’s not about extravagance—small tokens like handwritten notes, baked goods, or keepsakes can make someone's day. - Spread Kindness: Pay it forward with small gestures—buy a coffee for someone, leave an encouraging note, or volunteer your time. - Create Family Traditions: Share stories about the meaning of the day, bake together, or enjoy a meal with loved ones. - Incorporate Accessibility: Include everyone in the celebrations! For example, use inclusive recipes, accessible storytelling formats, and ensure digital invites or messages are readable for all. Why It Matters: Celebrating St. Nicholas Day isn't just about honoring the past—it's about creating a ripple effect of kindness and joy in today’s world. These small moments of connection and generosity remind us of the collective strength in unity and empathy. Let’s keep the spirit of St. Nicholas alive by spreading a little more kindness every day. ❤️ What’s your favorite St. Nicholas Day tradition? As we celebrate the 5th birthday 🎂 of EdCo LATAM Consulting, I had a think about five important learnings from the journey so far. 1. Understanding and addressing partner needs is important. Whilst we work with partners in the same industry, each have different aims and objectives so we need to tailor our services and listen carefully to what success looks like for our partners. 2. Building a team is challenging but very rewarding. At EdCo LATAM Consulting we have a great team and it is important to have the right team members working with each of our partners. Carefully matching skills set, experience and styles of working. This is vital and an area we are working hard on. 3. Perseverance and resilience are key skills needed to build a business. This reminds me of a quote from Muhammad Ali which I think of regularly “The fight is won away from witnesses – behind the lines, in the gym, and out there on the road, long before I dance under those lights”. We get rejections / unanswered proposals - we keep going 4. Successful relationships are developed through listening, understanding and taking action on feedback. Face to face meetings are the best way of really understanding partner needs. 5. Innovation and reporting on market trends is becoming increasingly important to our business. In five short years, technological advancement and AI have had a big (mostly positive) impact on our industry. A big thanks to everyone I have had the opportunity to meet and work with over the last 5 years – Here’s to the next five and I feel like we are just getting started 😊
