In this special episode of The Drive, which commemorates the 30th anniversary of the death of Brazilian Formula One legend Ayrton Senna, I sit down with my friend and fellow car enthusiast Dax Shepard to better understand what made Senna so special and discuss why I remain an enormous fan. This conversation focuses on Senna’s life, the circumstances of his death, and his lasting impact and legacy on the sport of F1. Here’s a glimpse of what we discuss: - The drama and dangers of F1 - Views on dying young, in the prime of life - The biggest difference between F1 today and F1 in the 80s - How hard it is to do what the top F1 drivers do - What Senna might have done if he had not died that day - More https://bit.ly/3xUY4Ta

“That’s kinda the case with Mercedes now as well, kinda there for the vibes 😂” Hew Hoong Liang (Nathan) and I discussed some of the latest off-track news of the Formula 1 season such as: - Fernando Alonso signing a long-term deal with Aston Martin - Ricciardo’s rough start to the season - Technical Upheaval at McLaren - Andretti continuing their quest into F1 - Liberty Media buying the commercial rights to MotoGP (a possible Ride to Survive Netflix series? 👀) We also discuss the rumours of a new Concorde Agreement and how this could potentially impact new F1 teams intending to join the sport going forward. 👇 “The Concorde Agreement is a three way agreement to get the teams to compete, the FOM pays FIA and the teams to broadcast whilst the FIA effectively rents out the commercial rights.” Do give us a listen at Race Pod on Spotify and do follow us at Race Recap for more news as the season progresses.

A series we've been running for a few months now on F1 Chronicle has been "5 Minutes with...". We've been getting plenty of interviews with Formula 2 and Formula 3 drivers. Some might question why we're focusing on junior drivers rather than people in F1, which is a valid question given the name of that website. Well, there's a few reasons, but the main one is that it allows us shine a spotlight on the Junior Formulae and its drivers. F1 is huge, it doesn't need more publicity, but it can definitely be argued that F2 and F3 does. On top of that, it allows us to get a perspective a lot of other media don't capture, what F1 drivers were like before they made it to the pinnacle of motorsport. And in a sense, that's already happened, as Franco Colapinto made his F1 debut for Williams a few weeks ago, but we already interviewed him back in June. We've reformed the format a little since and I've also lined up some more interviews with drivers that have a very good chance of being on the F1 grid either next year or 2026. Again, this all was a pipe dream at the start of the year, but here we are. Onwards and Upwards 💪😎 https://lnkd.in/efV8ZXDC

Do you believe "reversed grid" racing could truly make F1 more thrilling? It's a hot topic among fans. Here’s what F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali thinks: Reversing the grid might add more action and surprises. Picture this: top drivers starting from the back, fighting their way through the field. → What is a reversed grid? The fastest cars start at the back, and the slowest at the front. → Why consider it? It could create more overtaking and memorable moments. Everyone would need to battle harder for points. It would mix up the usual race order. → Concerns? Some say it makes races less authentic. But Domenicali suggests it's about maintaining excitement and unpredictability. Right now, sprint races spice up some Saturdays, and further changes could enhance the spectacle. Imagine a weekend where every session has serious competitive stakes. While not easy to perfect, it highlights F1's commitment to keeping fans thrilled and engaged. Do you think a grid shake-up is a good idea? Share your thoughts!
