We're proud to be partnering with TerryWhite Chemmart to re-launch our 'Trust Your Gut' campaign today with Kellie Finlayson, to raise awareness for the symptoms of bowel cancer, what they are and when to act. There are 15,500 Australians diagnosed with bowel cancer every year, and many are not aware of the symptoms. Acting quickly when you first notice symptoms is the key, because if detected early up to 99% of bowel cancer cases can be successfully treated. The Trust Your Gut campaign also encourages Australians to trust their ‘gut feeling’ when something doesn’t feel right by acting on your symptoms and talking to your GP. Regardless of your age, speak to your GP immediately if you experience any of the following symptoms: - Blood in your poo, even if only occasional - A change in bowel habits for longer than two weeks - Frequent gas pains, bloating, fullness or cramps - Unexplained tiredness or weight loss. Bowel cancer is the second deadliest cancer in Australia, and sadly now the leading cancer killer in 25-44 year-olds. Raising awareness for the signs and symptoms of bowel cancer is key to turning these statistics around. For more information, visit our website or look out for the in-store displays and catalogues at TerryWhite Chemmart nationally. To find out more about the symptoms of bowel cancer, and to use our Symptom Checker, visit www.trustyourgut.com.au . . . . . #JLF #JodiLeeFoundation #TrustYourGut #TerryWhiteChemmart #BowelCancer #BowelCancerSymptoms #BowelCancerAwareness #BowelCancerPrevention #EarlyDetectionSavesLives

Every February 4th , World Cancer Day is commemorated with the aim of sharing the importance of prevention and control of the disease. Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in the world with almost 10 million deaths, 7 out of 10 patients who seek medical attention go when the disease is in advanced stages. Remember that healthy behaviors can go a long way toward improving your health and lowering your risk of many cancers. So take control of your health, and encourage your friends and family to do the same. Choose one or two new healthy behaviors to start with. Once you’ve got those down, move on to the others.
