Ancient historians observed a recurring pattern in civilizations—growth, flourishing, and inevitable decline—driven by an internal decay born of the very comforts that prosperity brings. This cycle is reflected in society’s response to hardship. Adversity forges resilience and strength, leading to periods of prosperity. Yet, as comfort and wealth increase, so does complacency, ultimately breeding weakness and inviting hard times once more. In every era, a new generation must rise, strong enough to confront and overcome these challenges, renewing the cycle of growth. This is a powerful reminder that the strength of a society lies not in its ease, but in its ability to endure, rebuild, and thrive in the face of adversity. Strength emerges from struggle, prosperity breeds fragility, and it is only through hardship, that we rediscover the resilience to rise again.
