While the election did not turn out the way we hoped, I am beyond proud of what our team has accomplished. Northern and Upper Michigan have been ignored for far too long, and we succeeded where many failed this year: we have gained meaningful ground in a red bastion during an election cycle where Democrats struggled across the board. I have included a link to my final update from the campaign trail below, but wanted to highlight some key points on how we have moved the needle in MI-01: - Our campaign made history by electing the first woman in Michigan’s First Congressional District to serve as the Democratic nominee, defeating a two-term candidate as a first-time candidate by a 17-point margin and winning 95% of the 36 counties within MI-01.  - Raised $1 million, out-fundraising the previous Democratic nominee in a presidential cycle by 287%, with 97% of our donations coming from individual donors. (In contrast to Rep. Bergman, who raised only 30% of funds from direct, grassroots donations). - Positive movement for Democrats in Michigan between 2020 and 2024 is almost exclusively contained in our district, with Grand Rapids the only county outside of Northern Michigan to experience positive movement this cycle. - Of the 30 counties contained in MI-01 between 2020 and 2024, we increased the vote margin in 27 of those counties, with 17 counties experiencing a significant vote margin increase of 5+ points. Morgan Chalfant writes (https://lnkd.in/gyXyPmua ): "As the Democratic Party convulses over questions about President Joe Biden’s mental fitness, a pair of well-connected Democrats is offering an optimistic plan that would involve the president stepping down as the nominee and the party announcing a 'blitz primary' process ahead of the August convention." The problem with a "blitz primary" is that there has already taken place a set of traditional, official, rules-based primaries, through which Democratic voters selected their candidate, Joe Biden, in the normal way. The operation of these primaries was vitiated by the Democratic Party itself, which, in collusion with their lackeys in the mainstream media, concealed from voters Biden's mental debility and prevented other Democratic candidates, such as Robert Kennedy, from participating. So, now they want a do over, the operation of which will be anything but democratic and the end result of which will be a new candidate chosen not through traditional primary elections, but behind closed doors, by a Politburo of Democratic grandees, Deep State operatives, and high-tech oligarchs, entirely bypassing rank and file voters and the ordinary nomination process. Why should Democrats, who are only motivated by the fact that their candidate is deeply underwater, be allowed to try to slap together a remedy to a problem that they themselves created? As I have said before: The confused wanderings of QAnon shamans through the Capitol on January 6 will be as to nothing in comparison with the electoral coup that "well-connected Democrats," preening themselves on being a kind of Leninesque political vanguard of the elites, are currently trying to hatch.

Donors are always important. Democracy is something that can't be talked about financially in this chart because the need is too high. I think people that continually donate so much funds need to question his leadership. What spectacular version of this president can somehow manifest this money without grassroots and Wall Street journal writers? If businesses have enough money to sustain without generous contributions, will Joe give him a chance to teach him how to do the same thing? On the flip side Joe may even continue to open new armies of wealth because that's what democracy is. As someone who is familiar with the grassroots company what marketing system does this company have to easily persuade over 3,000 people to donate at least 10 times? What can they do to increase donations for the others that are not commonly affluent at comprehending democracy on his level?

Is it too early to call the word of the year. I'm going to vote for 'weird' A week is a long time in politics, but anyone would have to acknowledge that the clarity in the new marketing message is powerful. Simple, but powerful. It's a lesson for all of us who look to market our businesses. Getting clear on your message is so important. Whether you are a small business looking to market to service based businesses or if you are a political party looking to finally get cut through with a message. Yes, other factors are in play, biased media, big donors, big egos. But, it's been outstanding to watch. #marketing #messaging
