In this episode, I had the pleasure of talking to Barbara Kump. Barbara has been working closely with Green Hub for a while, and is one of the most involved researchers in our community. Hence, it brings me joy to use this platform to highlight her research and learn more about her work in researching organisational change, how she got there, and the current 'pet project' that is her upcoming book. Here are some of the key takeaways I got from the interview: 💡𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥, 𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮r 𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, whether as a CEO, manager or as a 'low level' employee. You just have to find an approach that works for you and for your organisation. 💡Change can be pursued in 'side activities' of businesses, such as the office cafeterias, business travel plans, water usage, etc., but the 𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬. 💡𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 '𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬', including both forces that maintain the status quo, and the ones that are already shifting it and you can use them to your advantage (such as shifting customer demands). You can listen to the podcast on your favourite podcasting platform: https://lnkd.in/evYxQzY3 Big thanks to Barbara for joining us on the podcast, and for her continued help in the Green Hub community!

It's a very exciting week because Humanity in Podcast is making its formal appearence on LinkedIn! Another podcast, you ask? What is it adding to the conversation? Well, ask no more! Co-hosts Amanda and Janneke, fellows at Humanity in Action Copenhagen 2024, are passionate about creating a platform for activists to engage, exchange, and encourage each other on their activism journey. All too often, we feel as though we are talking into a void, making noise but not being heard. While we cannot save the world with a podcast, the goal is first and foremost: reduce the risk for burnout in activist societies. Sharing our experiences, hopes and dreams with others, can often be helpful in feeling less alone and spread a sense of community! In-between conversations with this year's, the last years', and the next years' fellows, Humanity in Podcast will also serve as a platform to learn about "stuff they don't teach in schools". In other words, all the wicked and wild topics your history class skipped over. Beyond the co-hosts' own passion topics, followers are always invited to talk about their niche, expert areas that they feel are often forgotten or neglected. And that is it for today! This page will be updated regularly to announce upcoming episodes and new, exciting content! #podcast #humanityinaction #climatechange #humanitarian #activism #activists #activisburnout #community #conversation #climateactivism #migration #refugeeswelcome #development #internationalrelations #internationallaw #internationalpolitics #climatemigration #sustainability #regenerativefarming

Renee Lertzman, PhD has this idea that climate conversations, of a particular nature that is thoughtful and engaged in listening (please see her work on guiding on Inside Out, her website) could take place at Starbucks (cc Subhani Katugampala ). Please let’s make this happen! If it could be targeted toward resilience (which is more where the climate spotlight seems to be shining this year maybe) let’s focus on cities and towns that not only have been hit by climate disasters but those that are very recent just misses! Physical and therefor psychological distance has collapsed. I call focusing on the freckled landscape of capable and alert cities surrounding areas of climate disaster (including more distant and larger cities) a fairy circle (as in mushrooms) resilient theory of change. Subhani Katugampala please connect with Renee and maybe American Red Cross And FEMA extend resilience planning funding even wider from the area that disaster!! https://lnkd.in/eWSNiCSw

"Magical things happen when we pull back, and let others come forward." 🎺 Just out for the new year! Are you ready to level your changemaking and activism up? I know I am. 🌍 The wonderful people at the #RealOrganicProject created this podcast with organics leader David Chapman, when he was touring through the SF Bay last year. So fun meeting at Jesse Cool's landmark #Fleastreetcafe and later having this conversation. In this conversation, Dave and I get into what is being asked of us NOW, as changemakers, the power of #Guiding, why we need more attuning in our #movement building, and the links between advocating for issues we care deeply about, and #emotionalintelligence. Check it out! #changemaking #organics #foodsystems #changeleadership #upskilling #guiding #motivationalinterviewing
