All right, Job Seekers, it's time to prep your resume for 2024 because the apply + wait + silence thing is getting old. Here's where to start... 1. Always put the exact job title you're applying for at the top of your resume. This creates clarity and signals to the person screening your resume that you're a fit. 2. Next, add hard skills. Yes, throughout your resume, but again, choose 3 high-priority hard skills for the target role and put these right underneath your job title. This reiterates fit and keeps them reading. 3. Give them a compelling personal branding statement. It needs to be value-laden. How is this company going to be better because of what you bring to the table? Your branding statement should answer this question. 4. Your accomplishments deserve their own space on your resume. Create a noteworthy accomplishments section for the top third of your resume and put your 3 biggest wins there. Make sure they're relevant to the target role. You're making it really hard for them to ignore you now! 5. The final deal clincher? Proof. You can add proof to your resume in two compelling ways. ↳ Add numbers, facts, and figures (how much, how many, how often?) ↳ Add testimonials, quotes, or recommendations. 1-2 sentences related to your results.
