I listen to many podcasts, especially in the #CRE and #FutureOfWork space. This article by Emma Ascott in Allwork.Space | FUTURE OF WORK® highlights a terrific episode from their Future of Work Podcast featuring guest Ivo van Breukelen, Managing Partner at The Proptech Connection. Ivo and host Frank Cottle dig into the industry shifts that are driven by impactful innovations in Proptech. In the evolving commercial real estate landscape, flexibility, AI, as well as the relationships and collaboration between building, occupiers and occupants are reshaping the future of work and how spaces are utilized. As Ivo says, “𝗢𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗽𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁.” Ivo and The Proptech Connection are no strangers to the team at HILO. I had the pleasure of sitting down with him on the latest episode of my TEN podcast, where he shares global Proptech trends and insights. The Proptech Connection is tracking an impressive 19,000 Proptech companies to provide global market intelligence and insights on what’s happening in CRE. Have a listen to learn more about their data-led approach and Ivo’s passion for innovation in the built world. 🔗 Links to Ivo on TEN and the Future of Work Podcast are in the comments below ⬇️ #Podcast #CommercialRealEstate #Proptech #WorkplaceExperience #FutureOfWork https://lnkd.in/g79E_-X5

It was great being on Rob Sadow's #FlexPerspectives podcast and talking about how client demands have shifted dramatically over the past few years. Today, we’re seeing a certain type of customer—someone willing to make big, long-term investments in building out spaces that may take years to complete. But what’s really fascinating is the broader shift: every place is now a workplace. Whether it’s an arena, a restaurant, or even a gym, spaces we never thought of as offices are transforming into work environments. This has changed how we approach design and real estate strategy. It’s not just about building commercial offices anymore—it’s about thinking holistically about all the places where work happens. Thanks again to Rob and the Flex Index team! It was a pleasure chatting with David Abrams from HILO on his most recent episode of the TEN podcast! With flexible office space high on the corporate agenda, we discuss some of the changing needs and how coworking operators and landlords are accommodating for fractional use, the hybrid workforce, and creating an environment that draws people in. #Coworking #Futureofwork #WorkplaceEngagement
On a new episode of TEN, I connected with Ryan Speers, partner and COO at Workhaus, a technology-enabled company that offers #coworking and #flexible office spaces. As Ryan says, "𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚'𝙨 𝙗𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙖 𝙢𝙖𝙟𝙤𝙧 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙜𝙢 𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙛𝙩" in the coworking business. It’s such a topical conversation in CRE right now, so I really enjoyed getting Ryan’s perspective on where things are going. In this clip, I asked Ryan what's influencing the direction Workhaus is taking right now. “𝙉𝙤𝙩 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙮, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙨𝙤 𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙘𝙪𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙩'𝙨 𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙗𝙨𝙤𝙡𝙪𝙩𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙛𝙡𝙪𝙭. So the thrust of this podcast is a theme that I hope to build on in a presentation I will be doing alongside the excellent Ben Sellers at Elland Road in Leeds on 2nd May. It is fundamental that before deciding about what tech you need, you need a clear strategy. In our case it is High Skill / High tech. Once you have your strategy crystal clear, then tactics can be deployed which support that strategy. Note, you don’t start with tactics based on tech solutions that other people create, rather you being the engine of those tactics that serve your strategy. At least, that’s what I think. 🤔
On the first Friday of each month, The Home Stretch podcast has begun launching special tech episodes with well-known and respected guests from the industry. Hosted by Ben Sellers, Co-Founder of Starberry and Brand Director at nurtur.tech, the first guest to appear on the new series is Ian Preston, Director at Greenhouse OS and Founder of Preston Baker. On the episode they discuss the transformative technology landscape in the estate agency world, starting with the increasing popularity of the self-employed model. Do you have a strategy for open vs closed innovation in 2024? What is the difference between the two? 🔒 Closed Innovation: Traditionally, organisations have thrived on in-house R&D, guarding their intellectual property closely. While this approach fosters control, it may limit exposure to diverse perspectives and external breakthroughs. 🌐 Open Innovation: Embracing collaboration beyond organisational boundaries, open innovation invites external ideas, partnerships, and resources. This approach leverages a global pool of talent, accelerates development, and sparks creativity by tapping into a broader ecosystem. Historically, organisations have commonly taken a ‘one or the other’ approach, choosing one as their strategy and defending it to the last failed innovation. But as Jacob Dutton shared on our latest Company Road podcast, innovation-ready and primed organisations that can seamlessly integrate both open and closed innovation strategies are those that are poised to thrive in an ever-evolving landscape. In order to foster an environment where innovation is optimised, we need to push the boundaries of what’s possible and restrict ourselves from putting any form of innovation within a box. Listen to our full conversation for more insights on innovation and how to employ it rapidly and effectively in 2024: https://lnkd.in/gWMASbsk #innovationmindset #transformationstrategy #changemanagement #openinnovation #closedinnovation #growthacceleration #growth #development #newideas
